What is CreativeGates?
CreativeGates is a plugin that allows you to create teleportation gates without running a single command. The plugin does not impose design restrictions. Design the gate frame any way you like.
- Build a gate frame using any materials. It must however contain two emerald blocks (configurable).
- Name a clock with an anvil.
- Hit the inside of the frame with the clock
- Gates using the same clock name will connect to each other.
Install
- Stop your server.
- Put MassiveCore.jar in your plugins folder. Download MassiveCore here on BukkitDev.
- Put CreativeGates.jar in your plugins folder.
- Start your server again.
- For advanced users only: Configure the MassiveCore aspects and multiverses using the commands.
- Modify /mstore/creativegates_mconf/instance.json to your liking.
- Modify /mstore/creativegates_conf@universe/instance.json to your liking.
- Configure permissions. CreativeGates only has two nodes.
Portal vs Water
CreativeGates can use either portal blocks or water blocks for portal content. You decide which to use in the "uconf".
For portal blocks to work without bugs you must open your server.properties and set allow-nether=false. This will disable the generation of the vanilla nether map and the vanilla nether portals. This is how we do it on MassiveCraft. You can add one, two or even three custom nether worlds using a world manager plugin later on.
For water blocks to work you don't need to do anything special. If you want the vanilla nether world and portals you probably want to change to water portals in the config. Otherwise players entering nether gates in the nether might exit through creative gates.

Hey Robert, Im having an issue with some portals. When created, only one of them works. The other one says "Gate does not lead anywhere". No errors show up in server logs.

I have the same problem. Exactly the same. Plase fix it. My players are getting annoyed by those portals forcing them to look to the left. How am I supposed to make a portal-based race with this?

What's so special about spigot? Is it really better than official craftbukkit builds?

Try with spigot, i use it and it works fine: http://ci.md-5.net/job/Spigot/
Also, you should try with the dev builds of multiverse!
@Poopfish
I posted a fixed version a week ago, try it:
Plugin compiled against bukkit-1.4.6-R0.1 (a.k.a 1.4.6):
https://dl.dropbox.com/u/40068360/CreativeGates.jar
The changes in this version are:
- Hotfix so the portals dosent break on restart.
- Ajusted the face direction on exit according to the block face change commit of bukkit.
Also, i made a pull request at the main repository so the author can marge this changes:

Posted Dec 28, 2012gates now make the player always look to the left of the gate upon exit. Other than that and a few saving issues, this plugin works great

Posted Dec 27, 2012Waiting for an update with this quite a few bugs most of which are minor and visual but some bigger ones, for example.
My diamond vanishes and just leaves water and the frame the teleporter is then non existent.

Yes, I have tried wiping out every plugin I have, and running the server with ONLY CG (the 'fixed' one you linked a few posts down), and I've tried it with CG and the newest version of MultiVerse Core. Either way, I still get exactly the same error. Everything works like it should if I continue to run CG 1.3.5, the only thing is you come out of gates sideways instead of facing forward. I can handle that, not a big deal, it's just a small private server for friends anyway.
Yes, I tried cleaning the files. I downloaded a new, clean copy of the CG jar you linked below, as well as the newest version of MV-C, and deleted everything else, including their respective folders, and let them create new ones. No change.
I'm now using 1.4.6 R02, but I tried all of this with the same results under R01 (which is why I tried R02 to begin with)
Yes, as I stated earlier, I've tried updating to java 7.10, the latest one. No change.
I'm running Windows 7 64-bit.
I really have no clue why it's refusing to work for me, when it's clearly working for other people, but since it's still limping along under 1.3.5, I don't really care - just wanted the folks running this project to be aware that there are problems with it :)
