What is CreativeGates?
CreativeGates is a plugin that allows you to create teleportation gates without running a single command. The plugin does not impose design restrictions. Design the gate frame any way you like.
- Build a gate frame using any materials. It must however contain two emerald blocks (configurable).
- Name a clock with an anvil.
- Hit the inside of the frame with the clock
- Gates using the same clock name will connect to each other.
Install
- Stop your server.
- Put MassiveCore.jar in your plugins folder. Download MassiveCore here on BukkitDev.
- Put CreativeGates.jar in your plugins folder.
- Start your server again.
- For advanced users only: Configure the MassiveCore aspects and multiverses using the commands.
- Modify /mstore/creativegates_mconf/instance.json to your liking.
- Modify /mstore/creativegates_conf@universe/instance.json to your liking.
- Configure permissions. CreativeGates only has two nodes.
Portal vs Water
CreativeGates can use either portal blocks or water blocks for portal content. You decide which to use in the "uconf".
For portal blocks to work without bugs you must open your server.properties and set allow-nether=false. This will disable the generation of the vanilla nether map and the vanilla nether portals. This is how we do it on MassiveCraft. You can add one, two or even three custom nether worlds using a world manager plugin later on.
For water blocks to work you don't need to do anything special. If you want the vanilla nether world and portals you probably want to change to water portals in the config. Otherwise players entering nether gates in the nether might exit through creative gates.

Posted Jul 6, 2013I also have the incorrect Nether destination regardless of creative or survival mode. Here's my suggestion for ease of transition once this gets fixed:
Modify the new plugin configuration to require 1 diamond block like the older version requires.
All gates created with both versions are now compatible assuming you follow the design requirements of the older version (diamond block on bottom). This means you can archive/replace the plugin .jar file and associated folder of either version, and the gates will work without any world changes assuming the gate was setup under both versions separately.
I've done this already to allow me to easily test a newer version without having to redo all my gates again to downgrade to the old version should the new one still be problematic.
Also, I vote for a configurable portal block as I don't prefer the nether one due to the sounds generated around the portal.

I have same bug - very often send gate to nether. Water was better and worked fine.

Posted Jul 5, 2013Hate the new update,i started using this plugin about a year or more ago, i liked it because it was extremely simple and it looked good, now with the nether portals it looks extremely ugly. Not liking this move at all and will no longer be using it.

Posted Jul 5, 2013Having an option to change what 'fills' gates would be fantastic, Something along the lines of the 'blocksrequired' config entry, say. "fillblock": <yourblockid/name>, because nether portal blocks are nuisance for players in creative mode, or who stand right on the edge of the portal's area of effect, which, in both cases, will more-often-than-not send the player to the nether instead of the other gates.

Posted Jul 4, 2013Yeah I got everything all fixed, but theres one thing I really just dont like about this plugin that has changed.
With the nether portals, they keep glitching. Back when it was water I think that was better, for both cosmetics and functionality. When I go through a portal it will send me to the nether sometimes and it really is a nuisance for me because this plugin is what gets you off of the start island, and theres no other way to get off of it! ANyways, it's a good plugin I love it, but please change it back to water, or fix this bug!

Same problems. It's also not generating the 'instance.json' And when I make one myself and copy in the config shown here then make my changes, they don't take effect.
EDIT Nevermind the instance.json problem. It generates it in the 'mstore' folder instead of 'plugins>creativegates' which threw me off a bit.
