What is CreativeGates?
CreativeGates is a plugin that allows you to create teleportation gates without running a single command. The plugin does not impose design restrictions. Design the gate frame any way you like.
- Build a gate frame using any materials. It must however contain two emerald blocks (configurable).
- Name a clock with an anvil.
- Hit the inside of the frame with the clock
- Gates using the same clock name will connect to each other.
Install
- Stop your server.
- Put MassiveCore.jar in your plugins folder. Download MassiveCore here on BukkitDev.
- Put CreativeGates.jar in your plugins folder.
- Start your server again.
- For advanced users only: Configure the MassiveCore aspects and multiverses using the commands.
- Modify /mstore/creativegates_mconf/instance.json to your liking.
- Modify /mstore/creativegates_conf@universe/instance.json to your liking.
- Configure permissions. CreativeGates only has two nodes.
Portal vs Water
CreativeGates can use either portal blocks or water blocks for portal content. You decide which to use in the "uconf".
For portal blocks to work without bugs you must open your server.properties and set allow-nether=false. This will disable the generation of the vanilla nether map and the vanilla nether portals. This is how we do it on MassiveCraft. You can add one, two or even three custom nether worlds using a world manager plugin later on.
For water blocks to work you don't need to do anything special. If you want the vanilla nether world and portals you probably want to change to water portals in the config. Otherwise players entering nether gates in the nether might exit through creative gates.

Posted Jul 2, 2013Can you add something in the config file that change the nether portal style to use the system that was before, with water because I don't like the new style and the song of the portals. It would be great.

Posted Jun 30, 2013I didn't see it in the documentation but is there any way to control which way you come out of a portal? I would really love to be able to control this. Otherwise a fantastic plugin.

Posted Jun 29, 2013For anyone that is ending up in the Nether when going into a portal, go out of creative gamemode. Portal transportation to another portal only works when you are in Survival gamemode.

Posted Jun 29, 2013Congratulations you have broken a perfectly working plugin. Sometimes the Gates say "no destination" and sometimes it does teleport you to the destination and if it does it warps and shakes you around. Sometimes you land somewhere in the ground and sometimes in the nether.

Posted Jun 28, 2013There seems to be a bug: If I walk through a portal in creative mode, I get sent to the nether, so it basically acts like a real nether portal

You name a clock with an anvil by placing the anvil on the ground, right-click the anvil to open its interface, place the clock in the left-most slot in the interface, and type a new name at the top of the interface. Pull the clock out of the right-most slot to have your newly named clock. Any Google lookup on naming Minecraft items would have provided you with the answer.
MCore looks to be a new dependency as the plugin's backend looks to have been completely redone. I'm guessing it provides database functionality that is portable to other plugins. I just added the MCore jar file to the plugins folder and everything worked once I re-created my gates. Later I went in and changed the requirement from 2 emerald blocks to 1, though. :)

Posted Jun 28, 2013I have the same problem where any portal will randomly teleport you to the Nether instead of the target gate. It also places you into the ground in a random spot requiring the need for fast digging or fast typing (/spawn).
It also appears gates where the portal blocks (purple) are single wide always go East to West. If the portal faces North to South, the purple portal blocks are turned 90 degrees inside the frame.
The new update is pretty incredible. Once the Nether bug is fixed, this will be beyond awesome.
