What is CreativeGates?
CreativeGates is a plugin that allows you to create teleportation gates without running a single command. The plugin does not impose design restrictions. Design the gate frame any way you like.
- Build a gate frame using any materials. It must however contain two emerald blocks (configurable).
- Name a clock with an anvil.
- Hit the inside of the frame with the clock
- Gates using the same clock name will connect to each other.
Install
- Stop your server.
- Put MassiveCore.jar in your plugins folder. Download MassiveCore here on BukkitDev.
- Put CreativeGates.jar in your plugins folder.
- Start your server again.
- For advanced users only: Configure the MassiveCore aspects and multiverses using the commands.
- Modify /mstore/creativegates_mconf/instance.json to your liking.
- Modify /mstore/creativegates_conf@universe/instance.json to your liking.
- Configure permissions. CreativeGates only has two nodes.
Portal vs Water
CreativeGates can use either portal blocks or water blocks for portal content. You decide which to use in the "uconf".
For portal blocks to work without bugs you must open your server.properties and set allow-nether=false. This will disable the generation of the vanilla nether map and the vanilla nether portals. This is how we do it on MassiveCraft. You can add one, two or even three custom nether worlds using a world manager plugin later on.
For water blocks to work you don't need to do anything special. If you want the vanilla nether world and portals you probably want to change to water portals in the config. Otherwise players entering nether gates in the nether might exit through creative gates.

Posted Nov 16, 2012I wish someone would take this plugin over to fix all the issues with it. Im still having problems where, after about a day, you can go through a gate, but cant enter that gate to return. It just doesn't work. So I end up having to break the diamond block, replace it, and hit it with the clock. I have to do this to most of my gates daily. I'll donate if someone fixes this damn thing.

Posted Nov 14, 20121.4.4 dev is very laggy when teleporting. Just an FYI After the teleport, you cannot break blocks for a bit. Not sure if this is a Bukkit problem or CreativeGates
Regios has trouble when a player teleports out of a region.
Edit This plugin works fine except for above problems.

for example, have two wool gates, one wool and the other red, but don't link together. Instead, the red only links to red, and white only links to white.

Posted Nov 3, 2012This still works fine in 1.4 guys. It is however now more sensitive to Multiverse now (due to issues in that plugin not loading all worlds at startup properly now) so default worlds (ie world/world nether/world end) will all link up fine. But after a server restart the multiverse worlds that don't start on loading will drop all their gates (even when /mv load'ed) so you will need to go to all your off-world gates and re-start them. Only way Cayorian could fix that is tracking all gates in a data file and poling off world gates until the world loads; but no doubt lag would result.
I didn't get the .use bug, although I had other issues. Dig out my earlier posts. My solution in multiworld was a "tech" world where activating gates (in my case a dialable gate like stargate tv show) were permitted. In my case "the end" as there is not enough land for people to try making them on their own. All other worlds (the destination worlds) are all use only.
One way gates; can be made easily by simply placing a half step block along each /side/ of the /bottom row/ of your stargate. The gate can then be activated (or deactivated) but if you go through it, trying to get back will get you a "this gate goes nowhere" error.
What I would like to see is the diamond (or activation block) sensitive to redstone power so stargate style configurations can be activated/deactivated easier. But I am working around it with pistons.
