Default weapons
For those who are curious about what CrackShot is capable of achieving, but squealed like a little girl upon viewing the complete list of modules, you're in luck. The plugin comes with 18 default weapons, so you can jump right into the action! ... a very small taste of the action.

Known issues
Minecraft visual bug: Projectiles that are launched at high velocities (>40) may follow a warped flight path. Generally, they will appear to either curve to the left or to the right. Do not be fooled though, as the projectiles will always be spot-on despite what you see!
Minecraft 1.9 bug: Players may hurt themselves if they shoot at an entity that is too close to them. Affects servers between 1.9 and 1.16.
Spigot 1.15 bug: Entities cannot be hit by multiple projectiles at the same time. Affects servers between 1.15 and 1.16.4.

Posted May 3, 2013Hey, if recipes enabled, you can't craft vanilla items. For example if you will set lever as C4 and add for it recipe, you will be unable to craft levers.

Posted May 3, 2013Yes, I really think we need to upgrade the plugin. I only have a few requests:
•First, we need to add the new setting which will ignore the projectiles' own properties.
•Second, we need to find a new plugin to stop the warped flight path, or it can be a feature in the CrackShot plugin to fix the bug.

[1] Projectile "curving" is a Minecraft visual bug. Lower the speed, or go join Team Mojang and fix it yourself if its bothering you so bad? Lawl.
[2] You CAN use arrows. If you don't like them, join Team Mojang and change how they work. Good luck. -_-
[3] CrackShot works with 1.5.2? Why the hell would it need to be updated just because of a new Minecraft version? Lol?
[4] CrackShot is compatible with all arena plugins and even mentions MobArena in the features. Learn to read and try harder?

That is quite true. It does annoy me to see the snowball or whatever projectile curve way off your target, especially when it comes down to snipers. We should be able to choose more projectiles, which might make it more realistic (i.e., the snipers use arrows, etc etc etc)
I have coded over 60 guns for my server, but since the 1.5.2 update, when will crackshot be updated? And is crackshot compatible with other plugins, such as MA (tried it, and it didn't work. It would be awesome to have a mob arena with guns)? Please post or pm me if any updates come out. Thanks :D

Posted May 3, 2013I love this plugin! My players are all asking where to get guns and wanted to have gun PvP. But here is a suggestion that can make the plugin better, as these bugs, make the plugin a little bad than it should be. First, I want to say the projectiles' own properties are letting the creation of weapons difficult. Like when I made a sniper, I wanted to use arrows as it seems more stealthy. However, the arrows' properties make it impossible to give extra damage on headshots, furthermore, it drops arrows, making it less realistic (Snipers don't drop arrows right?). Thus, I think we should have a extra setting, which allows us to ignore the projectiles' properties and make it work like an ordinary snowball, though it still have the texture of a arrow or wither skull. Next, I want to say something about the Minecraft bug which cause projectiles to move left or right at high speed. It annoys me sometimes as it seem very unrealistic. I realize some servers with different plugins don't have this error. So, is there any ways to fix this bug, be it another plugin, or something we have to edit in Bukkit itself.

Here's a feature suggestion... It'd be great if we could configure weapons to use a horizontal version of the Beacon light just as a visual effect... Then we could make laser weapons (or Phasers for the Roddenberrians out there) and plasma cannons, stuff like that.
It would seem logical to add a Projectile_Type as 'laser' (to replace 'snowball' in most default configs).
The question is whether it's even possible to orient the beacon beam effect horizontally. If it's possible, it'd be awesome! And as far as I know, out of the dozens of gun mods, none have a laser feature so this would be another unique reason for people to download CrackShot instead of one of the "second-tier" gun plugins ;)
EDIT: I call dibs on setting up a Laser Tag server!

Posted May 2, 2013So I love Crackshot, amazing plugin so much configuration but I cant get it to work. First of all when I receive a weapon with the /get command dor some reason it is always a grey melon/pumpkin stem and also when I set the spread of a gun to 0 the in-game spread does not go down. I have tried to edit one of the default guns with still no luck.

Only integers are accepted, chakyl. Providing numbers with a decimal place will cause that particular value to be disregarded. Essentially, this means that 6.3 will become 0.
Most of the nodes that encompass a much broader range of values have been given an appropriate scale. For example, the Projectile_Speed node is currently scaled by a factor of ten - a value of 5 is equivalent to a velocity of 0.5 in Bukkit.
Perhaps the same should be done to bullet spread. We shall see.

Posted May 2, 2013I suggest adding the possible values for the bullet spread to be something like 0.5 or even 0.25, other gun plugins have this and it really does make a difference in how guns work.

Also, would it be possible to make it so bullets break glass?
Could we make it so that there's a config option to enable glass-break for normal glass and also a separate setting for glass-panes? (That way thick glass could be like bulletproof glass and glasspanes could be normal windows, which would shatter when they get shot)
Actually, heavier weapons should also be able to shoot through some block types... Maybe instead of a config option it could be an option to define within a specific weapon's config, maybe an option like:
bulletPenetration: glass, glasspane, clayblock, wool, wood
That way we can define which blocks each weapon can penetrate... A pistol could only penetrate wool and glass, while a heavy machine gun could penetrate wood and even bricks or sandstone.

Posted Apr 30, 2013Could you add a carepackage as a default weapon? Make it so you throw and item and it drops a chest from the sky and when it hits the ground it spawns a chest there. When you right click the chest it disapears and gives you a configured item from a random items list.
