ConsoleSay
ConsoleSay
Change the format of the console /say command.
Completely manageable in-game.
Version: v1.03
Licensed under: GNU Lesser General Public License version 3 (LGPLv3)
Supports: Bukkit Permissions (AKA SuperPerms)
ConsoleSay allows you to use the /say command and change the format - even with colors! The plugin is 100% manageable in-game.
Features:
- Broadcast server message with /say.
- Format the server message, even with colors.
- Allows you to change the default "Console:" tag for all /say commands, even from other plugins.
Installation:
- Place jar in plugins folder.
- Reload plugins with a plugin manager or restart server.
Configuration:
The default configuration file is generated upon first load:
format: '&4Console&f:'
Commands:
The following commands can be used by users with the node 'cs.admin'
/say <message> - Broadcast a server message. /sayformat <message> - Set the server /say format. /csreload - Reload the config.
Usage:
To set the /say tag one might do the following:
/sayformat &4[Server]&f: /say test This will produce a red server tag followed by a white message when using /say
Permissions
- Users with permission 'cs.admin' can use /say, /sayformat, and /csreload
Known Issues:
- If you use CommandBook and have the messaging module enabled, it will override this plugin. If you wish to use this plugin instead of CommandBook's version, disable messaging in CommandBook.
Getting support:
- Comment here, use the ticket system, PM me, or find me in #bukkit in IRC esper.net

Posted Aug 22, 2013Thanks for the update. ConsoleSay 1.03 is working on CraftBukkit 1.6.2 (BETA Build #2838) with bPermissions 2.10.7 on Java 1.7.0_25 (64-bit) on Ubuntu Server 12.04.2 LTS (64-bit).
Although it plays a overall small part, it allows my console messages (backup/restore notices) to look exactly like all my other in-game, server-side announcements which makes it look more cohesive and uniform.
EDIT: Also working on CraftBukkit 1.6.2-R1.0 with PermissionsEx 1.20.2 (2013-09-13)
EDIT: Also working on CraftBukkit 1.7.9-R0.2 with PermissionsEx 1.22.3 (2014-08-27)
Here is what my config.yml file looks like:
Thanks,
LHammonds

@Stevensaurus
I apologize for waiting so long in between updates. I have added the code necessary to give you magic, bold, strikeout, underline, italics, and reset, along with anything else that gets added in the future with single letter codes.

Posted Jun 13, 2013Thanks for creating and sharing this plugin. ConsoleSay v1.02 works on CraftBukkit 1.5.2-R0.1 using Java 1.7.0_21 (64-bit) on Windows 7 (64-bit) and on Ubuntu Server 12.04.2 LTS (64-bit).
I use Bash scripts to send in-game messages to my players such as reboot notices and wanted to format my prefix and text colors to match the colors of my server-side announcements and this plugin made the "say" command work as desired. Thanks.
Request: Please add the other format codes that are missing from this plugin (if possible):
Thanks, LHammonds

Hmm, I hadn't really intended this plugin to be used as an alert channel, I will consider adding something in.

What do you mean? The permissions already work with PEX as that is what I use. Just do /pex <user|group> [name] add cs.admin
