CommandRewriter

CommandRewriter is a small plugin that allows you to assign custom texts to custom commands. That means that you can assign a list of rules to the command /rules for example.
You can use colors and define as many lines as you want. If the Minecraft chat does not contain as many chars as you need, you can directly edit the config.yml in /plugins/CommandRewriter/. Just reload after the editing.
Features:
- Show the player a text if he executes a command
- Subcommand differentiation
- Colors
- Multiple lines
- In-Game configuration
- No complex configuration
Usage:
Assigning a text to a command:
- Use the command /cr set <command> to start the assistent
- The command has to be without the leading /
- The command can have arguments (/help 2 or /rules pvp)
- Now type the text you want to assign
- You can use color definitions like &6
- The symbol "|" marks a new line
Removing a text from a command:
- Type in /cr remove <command>
List all assigned texts:
- Use /cr list
Reload the config:
- Use /cr reload
Help:
- Use /cr help
Subcommands (NEW in v1.2):
You can tell CommandRewriter to listen to a subcommand. For example:
You assigned the first help "page" to /help. Now you want a second "page". Just assign the text to /help 2 (or whatever). If a player types /help 3 (this command has no assignment yet) he will be directed to /help.
Permissions:
CommandRewriter.set - Permission to assign messages to commands
CommandRewriter.remove - Permission to remove the assignment from a command
CommandRewriter.list - Permissions for listing all assigned texts
CommandRewriter.reload - Permissions for reloading the config

Of course you can. That is the main function of this plugin. Even if you'd have a plugin that registers this command, CommandRewriter is able to overwrite (in this case disable) it.

Posted Nov 20, 2012When I made the command "Adminrules" it had 4 lines and I had it set up like so: {line1}1) &4Blah Blah Blah. {line2}2) &4Bleh Bleh Bleh. {line3}3) &4Meh Meh Meh. And So on.. I wanted the Numbers {1), 2), 3)} to be white and the rules to be red, instead they were all red. And also doing {&r1) &4Rule Here} didn't work either it showed as {&r1) Red Rule} but the number was white this time, so I removed the &r and it went back to red.

1) What color did you see without using &r?
2) So, you want subcommands right? Please create a ticket.

Posted Sep 21, 2012I use Notepad plus plus and this time i used a yaml parser.. oh and 2 requests: {request 1} make it so the color codes don't color the whole text like i wrote rules and i wanted the 1) to be white and the rules red but i had to use &r1) &4Then the rule. {request 2} make it so if i use "/info 2" and i have a command "/info" "/info" doesn't take proirity over that command.

Well, your problem is the YAML format. The file extension .yml has a specified layout of the data inside. If you mess up the content, Bukkit deletes its content (I hate that to). Use an application like Notepad plus plus that shows the text in colors (code formatting). Then you should take a look at a documentation like this one. If you finished the configuration you could paste the code here in the left text field. If you get error on the right side you have to fix something (line number is given).

oh haha sorry man it did NOT delete my craft jar. you're right that would be ridiculous
I purposely put it in an endless loop to MAKE it fail so there are no bugs you need to fix ;)

One moment. You want to tell me that my plugin deleted the craftbukkit.jar ? Are you sure that you got the right meaning? This is impossible on a normal craftbukkit server that a normal plugin deletes the main jar. This is not possible because the craftbukkit.jar is locked by Java and can't be deleted while running. If you want to have support open a ticket with probably neccessary information and think about what you are going to say.

Posted Aug 31, 2012I got this to Battle with another alias type program by making a back and forth loop between them
Your plugin fought mightily to a dead even draw! with the alias plugin
Though there were no winners.... Craftbukkit.jar definitely LOST! (crash of the century)

No, if a player executes a command, a message will be shown. Example: You can assign /help to a small help page. If you are looking for a plugin that does the task you mentioned see my plugin MultiCommand.

Posted Aug 5, 2012I dont understand this plugin? XD
Does it change the command? So if I were going to type "/rules" instead I could type instead, for an example "/stuck" - IDK. Lol
