Command Signs
Make signs run commands!
CommandSigns allows you to assign any commands to any block making it easier for your players to do their command-based business!
Required Dependency
- Vault is required for CommandSigns. You can get it here: Vault
Features
- Run commands from signs or any other block with a single click
- Signs can have any other text on them, the commands are linked to the sign behind the scenes
- Elevate user permissions to run any command you choose
- Restrict who can use the sign and when
- Activate your CommandSigns with redstone
How To Use
- Place a sign (or block) and add any writing you want
- Add lines to your clipboard with /commandsigns line<number> <\text or /command>
- Right click the block to make it a CommandSign

Auto Updating
CommandSigns automatically checks for updates in order to keep your server up to date with the latest bug fixes! You can set CommandSigns to update completely automatically in config.yml, or to manually update, type /commandsigns update.

With latest build, signs can be used if you don't left space between you and the sign. However, the block is placed behind you, and is still not working if you are holding a torch.

Yup, PluginMetrics has always been disabled for months now. Still haven't given the final v1.8 a try yet, but I'll do so when I get the chance.

Thank you. I've been wondering what caused this for some time, and this fix should probably work. I'll try to get this fixed tonight. It may be a few days before we have a release with it, but you can always get the latest code on the jenkins.
EDIT: I just fixed it. (I think) I can't test it right now, but feel free to download the dev build and try it out:

It happens Both in survival and creative. Right-click with a block in hand works only if you left space between you and the sign for the block to stand, so if you are too close to the sign it does nothing; it also does nothing if you right click with a non-placeable block such as torches or pressure plates but with the essentials signs such as [Mail] it doesn't happen either of the two problems. :S

Did it happen approximately every 10 minutes? If so, disable plugin metrics. The config file is in the plugins folder under pluginmetrics if I recall correctly.

I was using build 12 on your Dev Build page, which I'm guessing was close to the final version of v1.8, but I'm willing to try again once more with the final version once it gets approval. I'll be back and let you know.
Just saying though that the server suffered from lag spikes every few minutes with this plugin loaded and they disappeared when it was unloaded, and I'm 99.9% sure it's attributed to CS v1.8 and/or Bukkit builds on 1.3.1 as it never used to do this on 1.2.5.

Are you using the 1.8.0 beta build? It contains some major changes to the way we execute signs, which probably increase performance significantly. It'll be in release soon if you want to wait.

One comment though: whenever I try using your latest build on 1.3.1 R2, it's been giving me a hard time in terms of performance issues. It causes lag spikes as well as eating up all my memory (java runs out of memory). I know it's this plugin too because I've had it on for a few days, experienced this, then turned it off for a few days and performance was much better, and now today when I re-added it the lag came right back.
Is there anything you can do on your side, or settings on mine, to increase performance? It'd be much appreciated!
