Description
This plugin aims to modify the chat with colors, prefixes and suffixes.
You can set the color/prefix/suffix for individual players or create groups and add players to them.
There are several supported third-party plugins and other supported things like Spout or an economy system.
It's a rebirth of ColorMe and Prefixer from @Valrix
I'm happy to hear about your opinion, just leave a comment with a feature request, bug, improvement or just a personal opinion.

Features

Commands & Permissions
Only the bukkit permissions are supported! I highly recommend that you use a plugin for permissions like bPermissions!
If no permission system is found, all commands are for OPs only!
If you want to use ECONOMY, please use Vault!

Posted Aug 4, 2012Hello... looks like the plugin needs to be updated for some new API. Its working fine without an update but the bukkit told me to tell you :P Anyway, I hope a new dev build becomes available that lets us color the names above our heads, you said it was already possible but I cannot find where in the config (probably isnt released yet)

I changed the code that the player is only stored in the file if he changes something - if not white and no prefix/suffix
Should improve speed and be more resource friendly.

Every color char counts as a character, too.
And there is a limitation to 16 - I can't break this limit. This is why there is "..." at the end

As stated above, the users without any modification of their names/prefix/suffix won't be in the players.yml anymore!

Yes. create a simple prefix.
In 3.5 there is even a group system - or the groups of PEX, bPermissions or GroupManager can be used!
In 3.4.1 please remove EssentialsChat.
I'll add a "soft-mode", where ColorMe won't modify the chat - but since most plugins won't use the ColorMe API, they will be only using the colors.

Before I install, I just wanted to double check a couple of things, if that's okay!
I like to assign personal prefixes to the players on my server, but it was getting really tiresome to create groups in Group Manager (my permissions plugin) for each one of them. And... Imagine the size of the file after a few months Xx
So I'm hoping this will be the perfect plugin to do what I need : with a simple ingame command, just give players any prefix I want, with different colors for each if I please, without having to touch the config and reload each time. Am I at the right place?
Also, big question, should I turn off Essentials Chat if I use ColorMe?

Posted Jul 31, 2012I love this plugin :D it works perfect, just what I needed too. There is only one thing I was wondering though. I really only have this for staff and there is only about 10 ppl who actually need it. The players.yml gets pretty full and manually deleting players is uhh... kinda a boring. I can't complain too much tough awesome plugin :P

Posted Jul 30, 2012I kinda have a request if it would be doable.
Currently how the plugin works it adds everyone to the players.yml file... and on a server who get a ton of visitors that file keeps getting larger and larger even though never really specified a color they appear there as an empty data field.
Is there somehow a possibility that there could be an option to turn off that or similar for future? Because having to manually clear some of the file out at times due to a 5MB+ of textfile giving small hickups due to too long readtimes is quite annoying.

Posted Jul 20, 2012I got a little problem. When I downloaded the plugin, the colors of the ranks that I specified in the PermissionEX config disappears.
So for example, this should be my normal chat:
GREEN: [G] Different color: [RANK] Same color as rank: [NAME] Message: [GREEN]
So it would be like: [G] [RANK]NAME: MESSAGE
Now, what happends is this:
GREEN: [G] White: [RANK] White (same as rank): [NAME] Message: [GREEN]
How do I make the colors like I set them in PermissionEX? I need the plugin for an extra prefix besides the rank prefix I set.
I had no permissions setup as I only plan to use this plugin through the console with Buycraft (But maybe there are permissions required to make it work?)

Posted Jul 20, 2012I'm having a propably quite common problem. I am using bPerms together with bChatManager in order to show the meta features of bPermissions. Now, when I install ColorMe everything works just fine except for one thing, which is the name color in chat. Now I understand that this is because bChatManager override ColorMe functions. Only using ColorMe would bring me all features (and removing bChatManager, but I would lose all meta features from bPermissions like prefixes etc.
Is there some smooth way to solve this? Is there a node that applies player color in chat that I can put into bChatManager?

In 3.5 there is a blacklist of words :)
Either you have the no filter permission words like admin etc are not available!
