Hello Minecrafters! This is my second plugin on Bukkit and it allows for colored groups in chat and in tab, colored chat, and colored signs!

To use colored text, simply use "&" and then a color code. The color codes available in Minecraft are

The following codes are also available for effects:

Code Common Name

&k Magic

&l Bold

&m Strikethrough

&n Underlined

&o Italics

&r Reset

Each of these can be enabled or disabled by giving or taking any of the coloredTexts.colors or coloredTexts.effects permissions. A player can see the color and effects available to them by using the /showcolors command. Each of these permissions also allows a player to use those colors and effects on signs as well, if it is enabled in the config.

A player can set their default chat color using the /setcolor command and then a letter or number of the color codes (basically, the color code without the & symbol). A player can also use a word instead of the letter or number. For exmaple "/setcolor red" will set my color to red(c). To set the color to one of the dark colors, simply use "/setcolor darkred" or "/setcolor dark_red". The syntax for the command is /setcolor <color code>.

Groups can be assigned colors, as well, by giving them one of the coloredTexts.groups permissions. It is important to only give each group one of these permissions. This color will show up in both when the player talks in chat as well as in the tab menu, if both sections are enabled. Both chat and tab menus will also show the player's nicknames, if they have one. These group colors will also be used in the joining and leaving messages, if they are enabled.

The plugin is fully customizable, and all or some of its features can be disabled. Each feature of the plugin has a enable or disable area located in the config file.

I keep getting could not pass event AsyncPlayerChatEvent to ColoredTexts v1.2....

Any ideas?

edit: also /Player isn't working for custom join message all it does is say "/Player has joined" in the chat when they join

I don't know if this is a bug or not, but when players join my server. It doesn't say (Name Here) Has Joined the game and also doesn't say when they left so... just seeing if this was a bug or not

Currently, only one color or style can be set at a time, however I will add the ability to have one of each in the next update.

To use the magic style you need that permission node to be set to true for you. Check to make sure you have coloredTexts.effects.magic set to true. If you gave yourself coloredTexts.niceLooking you will need to give yourself coloredTexts.effects.magic separately because niceLooking sets magic to be false.

How can I set my chat color to Bold, AND red? I seem to only be able to do one or the other.

And /setcolor 4l or 4 l or &4&l dont work.

Also I noticed I cannot set a signs text color if also using the "magic" style. is that possible?

Thanks for the advice. but there still seems to be a problem, there was a preset code and i just modified it a bit

And i made the .build stuff false so i could tell if it identified me as an admin, and it does. so idk what wrong. I do really appreciate your help though, thanks :)

Basically what you need to do is setup permissions. There are multiple plugins that are permission handlers, I recommend PermissionsBukkit (See Here: http://dev.bukkit.org/server-mods/permbukkit/ ). You can create groups and setup individual permissions with that.

I have been trying this shit for a long time so please, put it simply. i have nothing in my permissions.yml, i am a beginner, i dont know what or where to put the codes, better yet i dont know what codes to put there. i think i have to do it by accessing .yml with the notepad i have but i dont know what to put in there. I have googled this shit so many times for so long, and i have taken example codes and put what i thought went where but nothing worked. so if you could please just like copy and paste the coding with some simple instructions of where to put it, you would be my HERO! thanks :) i love your plugin by the way. also how do i make myself admin, i made myself op but idk if thats the samething, i googled it and from what i saw it is, but it didnt seem so when i was coding. anyways, thanks.
