Climbable
This plugin allows player to climb a set of defined blocks while holding a tripwire hook.
Usage
Simply hold spacebar to climb climbable blocks, and sneak to decend. NOTE: This will only work when a player is holding the configured item (a tripwire hook by default), is wearing the configured climbing boots (not required by default), and has the "climbable.canClimb" permission.
Blocks
Climbable block are separated into two categories in the config, ClimbOn and ClimbIn. ClimbOn blocks are blocks that a player can scramble up the surface of, and must press against in order to climb. ClimbIn blocks can be thought of as handholds. In order to climb these blocks, players must share the same space as the block, so blocks like torches, levers, and buttons are recommended.
These lists are fully configurable, consider the beta over.

Posted Aug 12, 2014IF this is still being worked on, I need help. Players in adventure mode can use the hooks to climb something and then continue flying when they try to drop from what they climbed. I have players flying all over the place!

Very cool concept. I'll use this as a high level ability unlocked on my server.
One suggestion I have is can you possibly make multiple sections in the config so that there are multiple kinds of climbing tools? I personally would like to see custom named items be used in a config but I don't know if that's possible so I'd like to know what you think about it when you get a chance.

I completely forgot to implement the hook item in the config, I originally intended to do so, but it must have slipped my mind.
The climbing boots are an interesting idea, and not too difficult to add, so I suppose that I'll add that as an option.
As for climbing any block with a button on it, well you already can, that is what the "Climb In" list if for XD

Posted Aug 5, 2013Could you also configure which tool is needed in-hand to be able to climb? (And if you implement this, could you also make the tool's data value configurable, like "TRIPWIRE_HOOK:2"?)
You could even make "climbing boots" an optional requirement. Climbing boots are basically just regular boots, but the material can be specified within the config (gold, iron, chain, etc.). In other words, you can make it so that players have to wear a certain pair of boots, in conjunction with using the "climbing hooks" in order to start climbing.
I do rather wonder if it would be possible to climb any block so long as it had a button sticking out of it. This would be another handy feature to have.

I want to release this to donators on my server, but unfortunately doubleslabs aren't one of the supported blocks, which is what half the the server's buildings are made of =|

Try disabling any anticheating measures you may have, and see if it works, your anticheat plugin may be poorly made, ignoring player's canFly metadata.
