There are unofficial versions of 1.7.2 released, such as spigot.

This bug has been fixed in the latest update! Wait for the bukkit staff to approve it :)
Sadly, cursor control is not possible due to the limits of bukkit plugins. However, I might consider adding sign copying/pasting!

Great catch! I consider myself a pretty good bug detective but it never dawned on me to try holding anything other than a sign when editing signs! ;-)
At this point I'm cheating on this plugin with QuickSignReloaded. However, they don't appear to conflict with each other and work just differently enough to warrant keeping both loaded on my server. (QSR offers copy/paste functions which I find useful for moving entire signs. But I otherwise prefer the direct edit (non-command line) of CE in general.)
@Bobacadodl
Any thoughts on my "cursor control" question? Or is that not possible due to limits in the sign API or something?

I figured out the pattern, The problem only happens when you are actually holding a sign at the time you do shift-right click. The built-in behavior to add a new sign on top of the old one appears to be overriding the plugin's behavior. Not a big deal to work around, but you should probably mention it in the docs, as it was frustrating to have to figure it out.

I have this problem too. It works fine with the command but not with shift-right click.

Posted Oct 9, 2013Hmmm, testing 0.5 but no one else seems to be reporting the problem I am having. I can't seem to shift-right click a sign to edit. When I do, the console says "You are now editing the sign" but it shows a sign window without the text to be edited. When I click done the console says "Sign successfully edited!", however a new sign appears.
However, when I stand in front of a sign and type /clickedit edit, I am able to edit the sign as suggested.
I hope I am not doing something dumb but I don't think so... ;-)
p.s. Is there any way to implement left/right arrow "cursor" placement? So you could edit select words or fix a typo without deleting a whole word/line?
And most importantly, thanks for writing and sharing this plugin! :-)
