ChunkOwn
Version 1.0.4
NOTE: This plugin requires you have Vault enabled on your server
This is a very simple way to handle griefers. It allows Player's to buy specific Chunks in the World so only they (and admins) can build there. Admins can limit how many Chunks each player can own, and Players can add Co-owners to allow them building rights.
Features:
- Supports all major Economies and Permission Plugins thanks to Vault
- You can change what command this plugin uses by editing the plugin.yml (found inside the plugin jar file)
- MultiWorld support
- Configurable properties
- Custom messages
- Players can buy unowned land, no need for Admins to run around protecting houses for Players
- Limit the amount of Chunks Players can own
- Custom buy/sell prices
- Customize how deep Players own land (defaulted near sea level)
- Option to automatically place a specific type of block along the edge of the Player's Chunk (to outline)
- Option to delete a Players owned Chunks and revert the Chunk back if they do not log in for a specified amount of days.
- Players can purchase Add-ons for their property such as chest locking, and auto healing
- Players can be notified when they enter someone else's owned land
- Players can be notified when another Player enters their owned land (with TextPlayer support)
- Players can preview land before they buy it
- Players can be forced to group their land together
- Optional increased cost for each additional Chunk
- Simple commands
- Blocks many griefing events
- Allows Co-owners who will also have build rights
- Co-owners can be a specific Player or a specific Permissions Group

Posted Jun 10, 2012Players who die in an owned chunk seem to be respawning where they died sometimes without losing inventory, and sometimes are unable to respawn without reconnecting to the server. Any ideas how to fix?

Check your permissions file, in detail. Chunk Own used to use "chunkown.own" to allow players to buy and sell chunks. Now it is "chunkown.buy".

If your problem looks anything like this (and it seems to on the surface) it might be because of the simple switch in the permissions node name. I had a grand adventure tracking this one down too. :)

Posted Jun 6, 2012Codi,
I would like to use Chunk Own to generically protect the world and allow individuals to buy chunks for their projects.
But I would also like to use WorldGuard Regions to selectively un-protect certain squares that cross the borders of owned chunks to make things like public melon, wheat, and tree farms.
Currently, Chunk Own seems to be overriding Regions, when I purchase a chunk and then simply use the normal Regions flags, parents, and other commands to set up an area how I want it. Do you know a way that I might allow Regions to override select squares within an owned chunk?

Posted Jun 4, 2012I did have one additional comment.
If at some point i decided to change the "Depth" of the plot purchase (I think by default its right around sea level).. if I ever needed to make that deeper (A group of my users have recently started making Underwater residences ).. if i adjust the config will it automatically adjust accordingly on existing plots? or will they need to /sell and /buy again to adjust the plot boundries

are you using PEX? make sure it says that Vault is connecting to it.

use "-" to take a permission node away from a group. If I add that node then everyone else will be complaining about how their admins still have to pay. The glowstone disappears when the server is reloaded. You can use a different Block besides glowstone too. I will add an option to to allow a timer for blocks to vanish for buying chunks as well.
@tslotha
in next update: Fixed Fire Prevention (Owners can light fires but fire will not spread or burn the Block)

Posted May 28, 2012Just out of curiosity.. is there a option to prevent fires?...i wasnt quite sure where it would fall in.. After we implemented, we have some of our users that use a piece of Netherack to make a fireplace.. however since they got their plots.. they can no longer light the fires.. is this part of the Anti Explosion option?

Codi, I have noticed on my server that when I replace these glowstone blocks, after about a day, whatever block I replaced it with disappears--more often (but not always) if any blocks are placed nearby (maybe an effect of the code for if someone tries to cover the block?). Is the disappear effect supposed target only glowstone, or any object in that space?
I've taken to manually marking territories in the squares around these blocks instead, and advising that players do not build with any expensive materials on the bottom corner edge of their chunk.
Because my server and our mods use Chunk Own to help us find and mark out purchasable territories in towns, whenever we build a residential district, it takes quite a bit of time to mark around where this glowstone appears, and it looks a little silly when the item that we replace it with disappears from the corner of the design.
The glowstone also does not disappear when the property is sold back to the server. I am not sure if this is intended.
Any suggestions?

usually I give admins '*' so they have all rights. Thought it may be no problem to add "adminpay: true" to the config file. and the glowstone... just a guess but I think it would be better to let it disappear like as if you preview a chunk. if you buy several chunks, theres glowstone everywhere and ppl would never need to buy glowstone/torches/... to light up places. So I think our economy server lives from ppl e.g. buying those light items and not getting them when buying an area, thats why I would need the proposed change.

The glowstone stays there when a chunk is bought. They disappear when the plugin is disabled or if someone tries to block them.
And just don't give the Admins the chunkown.free node

Posted May 27, 2012hi,
plugin works fine and is what I am looking for, simple to use and efficient! there is, however, a bug. If I preview a chunk, the glowstone disappears after a time that I have changed to 10 seconds. But if I buy a chunk and then sell it, glowstons still remains there.
edit: please add the possibility to charge admins, too, when they buy chunks.

Posted May 27, 2012And the chunk disowning bug is still there, I might change to factions now although I'd prefer staying with ChunkOwn because it's all I need. Please man... make it work. I suggest rewriting the entire plugin.
I'm honestly pissed about all that grief this caused.

Posted May 26, 2012I have a suggestion: My user keep complaining that others set their homes in their bases. Can you make it so that players can't issue commands in from other players protected land?

Ya, permissions are kinda confusing. I changed it so each permission is false by default so this won't really cause any more problems. I'm glad if it's working for you now.
I am done with school until September so you guys can expect a lot better support now.
