ChunkOwn
Version 1.0.4
NOTE: This plugin requires you have Vault enabled on your server
This is a very simple way to handle griefers. It allows Player's to buy specific Chunks in the World so only they (and admins) can build there. Admins can limit how many Chunks each player can own, and Players can add Co-owners to allow them building rights.
Features:
- Supports all major Economies and Permission Plugins thanks to Vault
- You can change what command this plugin uses by editing the plugin.yml (found inside the plugin jar file)
- MultiWorld support
- Configurable properties
- Custom messages
- Players can buy unowned land, no need for Admins to run around protecting houses for Players
- Limit the amount of Chunks Players can own
- Custom buy/sell prices
- Customize how deep Players own land (defaulted near sea level)
- Option to automatically place a specific type of block along the edge of the Player's Chunk (to outline)
- Option to delete a Players owned Chunks and revert the Chunk back if they do not log in for a specified amount of days.
- Players can purchase Add-ons for their property such as chest locking, and auto healing
- Players can be notified when they enter someone else's owned land
- Players can be notified when another Player enters their owned land (with TextPlayer support)
- Players can preview land before they buy it
- Players can be forced to group their land together
- Optional increased cost for each additional Chunk
- Simple commands
- Blocks many griefing events
- Allows Co-owners who will also have build rights
- Co-owners can be a specific Player or a specific Permissions Group

The size of the owned area will always be based on minecraft world chunks, it is just the way that it is programmed. The plugin does not calculate the chunk dimensions, that is already done by minecraft. I don't know how else to explain it so if that doesn't help look at this article (http://www.minecraftwiki.net/wiki/Chunks) I can make the owned area larger (say a group of 4 chunks) but they will always align with the chunk edges. I would not be able to keep up with two separate "land owning" plugins so If I add the ability to rent land it will be a feature of this plugin.
@drakcore
I am going to test what you are talking about, I may have broke it when adding the new features.
@EightBitMe
If you have neighboring chunks they are basically merged into one. There is no message when walking between them. The corner blocks are only placed initial so the owner can see their limit, they disappear when the player tries to break them (so they can't get the drops). The add-ons will apply to every chunk that the player owns. I will try to add an option to allow each player their first x chunks for free.

Posted Apr 28, 2012First of all, this seems like a great plugin with a great concept - way better than -if it worked :) - than any other block protection plugin based on simplicity and potential.
However, after reading through 23 pages of comments (REALLY?!?! 23??? ;) ), I'm pretty sure I only came across 1 other reference to my question and never saw a public reply to it so here goes:
One thing that I'd like to do is have the ability (as an admin) to go through and predefine my own "chunk" area size through the use of either special blocks or commands. As others have mentioned, the current way the plugin works which is to calculate "chunk" areas automatically doesn't work in my case as I'm trying to apply the plugin AFTER users have already created their own houses and structures and so the "chunk" areas dont necessarily line up correctly with their builds. I won't go into what problems this might cause. I believe you mentioned you were working on another plugin that handles this and also handles renting of land so 2 questions:
1) Is there/Can you add a way to define your own chunk areas? 2) If its not possible in this plugin, whats the status of the other plugin you're working on - need help?

Posted Apr 27, 2012Getting strange issues.
Only gave permissions to use on a multiworld which does allow them to buy a chunk but if they try to buy another chunk right next it says they can't until they build x9 neighboring first which was set but then the original chunk corner markers vanish.
Then they can't buy another chunk until they clear their chunks since they can't sell the first one when standing in it.

Oh, and if you buy a chunk next to a chunk you already onw, they should merge into one, ike usethe same flags, have the same add-ons no message when you walk into your other chunk, stuff like that, that would be a nice feature.

Ok cool, can players destroy the glowstone? And it would be cool to have an option so that the player can buy 1 chunk for free, there first chunk then they have to buy more.

currently it marks the corners of the chunk with glowstone (you can change to cobblestone if you wish) I don't think it is necessary to place more than just the corners

Posted Apr 26, 2012@Codisimus Hey, could you make it so when you buy a chunk it makes an outline of say, cobblestone in the ground to show you the area of the chunk?

I found the issue, there is a memory leak for healing and feeding if you disable them it should work fine. I am looking into how to resolve this now
EDIT: I fixed this in version 0.7.1
