Version 2.0 Reindeer Update

Version 2.0, otherwise known as the Reindeer Update, is the second key version of the plugin. It features all of Version 1.0 and adds the item Christmas Star. The Christmas Star is an essential item for all versions to come as it is used for crafting items in the plugin. The only item that doesn't require the Christmas Star is the Buff Present, which is found in 1.0. As a note, all firework charges in shown recipes are actually Christmas Stars.

Christmas Star

Christmas Star itself is a modified Firework Charge, so it can be used to make fireworks with. The only way to obtain the star is to wait for leaves to decay (as of 3.0) and there is a 1 in 7 chance of it dropping. Apples are rarer than the star. You cannot break leaves to obtain the Star, but instead have to wait for Leaf Decay. The star was added as we needed to implement Rudolph, but make him special. We initially planned for craftable nametags, but found that the recipe for the nametag wasn't special; this lead to the creation of the star.

Rudolph

Rudolph is more of a modification rather than implementation. Rudolph is a special horse that provides light whenever there is player movement within a 10 block radius. It is useful when mining, and also as a defence, as it can be used as a motion sensor even when players are hidden underground. To 'create' Rudolph, you must first get the Rudolph Nametag, which can only be crafted. It is crafted like so;

One thing to note is that Rudolph changes blocks quite rapidly, which, on lower memory servers can cause to lag or even world corruption. We play on a 700mb test server ourselves and have not encountered either of these issues, but they still remain a possibility.

Santa Clothing

Santa Clothing was implemented for no real reason apart from fun. It features red leather armour which can be crafted using 8 Christmas Stars. To see crafting recipes, please see the official recipe section. It features no more protection than leather armour, but it opens up the possibility of obtaining red leather armour without dyes.

Caveats

The following I don't consider a caveat, but more of something that is missing. There is no option to disable / enable Christmas Stars or Rudolph.

Things to note

This version has introduced lag and possibility of corruption to the server, so we recommend backing up worlds regularly.
