Chicken Glider
Description
This plugin allows players to use Chickens to glide just like in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.
It is solely dependent on Bukkit and should not break upon new CraftBukkit release.
NOTE: Still in progress. Currently the functionality is there. There is more features to add later.
HOW TO
- Simply right-click a Chicken with nothing in your hand, and it will equip the chicken for gliding.
- Then simply jump off things to glide.
NOTE: Normal jumping is not affected by gliding. You must leap off something
Features
- Gliding
- Blocks egg spawning from chickens that are riding the player.
Config
- glide_speed
- How fast the player will move in their direction when gliding with a chicken.
- glide_drop
- How fast the player will drop when gliding with a chicken.
Permissions
- chickenglider.glide
- allows player to use chickens to glide
TODO
- Alleviate fall damage based upon glide_drop value.
- Item requirement (config defined)
- Player ride entity (not entirely sure yet since it deviates from the zelda idea)
- Extra flying entities.
- Particles for gliding players
- Fly mode for donators/admins that allow them to fly without having to use keys to move, just look (3D fly)
- Command toggle for fly mode
- Commands to toggle glide if desired
BUGS
- Chicken rides very high above the player.
- Eggs spawned by chickens within the same block as a player that has a chicken glider, will despawn the egg.

Sorry been busy with school just starting back up. Yeah I'll get around to tweaking the fall_damage, either based upon the speed at which people fall, or just another value all together.

Posted Dec 28, 2013Sooo... I love this plugin. I plan on using this as a perk on my server for donators.
Here is a bug we've noticed while testing: Fall damage still accumulates. So even though they fall at a super slow speed, it acts like they fall at regular speed and get all of the damage for the distance.
Any fix for this soon? :)

I just put this together within 15 minutes. I'll check with the nocheat, but I may have to make the events on high priority. And no, as chickens ride players like that. Its simply setting the chicken as a passenger to the player. I might reverse the passenger and vehicle, but then you would be riding the chicken instead.
