ChatColorizer - Chat formatting
ChatColorizer is the easiest chat-formatting plugin out there so far!
The plugin is designed for people who don't want to use advanced chat mechanichs and channel plugins. It simply gives the group given permission the specified rank.
This is a great plugin for you if you're looking for something to clean your chat up and make it look more proffesional. With up to 8 configurable ranks, you can make players be aware of if you're and Admin or whatever rank is set for the specified group/player.
} Features {
ChatColorizer makes your chat look better than the standard, it looks more professional while it's super simple to configure and set up!
It is based on permissions, and gives a group/player with a certain permission, a rank that's fully configurable in the config!

} How to set it up {
To set it up, you first go into the config.yml file that's placed inside the ChatColorizer folder and start editing each group, with their names and group colors. There's also an option to change the name-color of players on the server.
If you have any troubles or question, write in the forum.
} Commands {
- /cc reload - Reloads your configuration file
- /cc version - Shows which version of ChatColorize you're running

| chatcolorizer.norank | Gives a group/player no rank, it just shows name and message when typing, no prefix | ||

| charcolorizer.group2 | Gives a group/player rank 2 specified in the configuration file | ||

Until Bukkit is back to normal and all legal investigations are finished, none of my plugins will be updated since we (the developers) can't download the latest API and we also risk breaking copyright law since everything's really weird atm.
Thanks for your understanding

This is because you've added yourself as a OP. If you have a permission plugin, then you don't need to use the built-in OP system. As a OP you get every permission, which means everytime the server restarts, you'll get a different rank since you are listed on all the available ranks.
I'm planning to make it so permissions are not used anymore, so you only need to type commands and it logs the rank and player in a file. But this won't happen until late july or in august.
The reason for that I will remove the permission based system is because it's very stupid to register players with that, just because of this problem you and many other users are experiencing.

Yeah that's a good idea. Haven't worked on this plugin for a while, McRPG has kind of taken up all my attention at the moment ;) Will fix this for next update!

Awesome plugin! The only thing I think you could improve on is giving us the ability to change players color based on ranks. Other than that, no criticism from me. One feature that isn't necessary but would make the plugin more polished would be to have the colored names/tags appear in the player list(tab) and leave and join messages. Thanks for this plugin it has helped my server a lot. :)

No idea what simple prefix is for a plugin.
Download latest file, it's for bukkit 1.7.8.
More groups are coming later

Posted Apr 12, 2014Hello. Is there any way you can make this similar to Simple Prefix? This was a vital plugin for my server, and it's no longer supported and breaks when I updated to the latest bukkit. I really need custom prefixes for players, and more than 8 groups. Just wondering if you're heading in that direction. Thanks.

You give a group in, used as an example; PermissionsEx. So if you change the 3rd group in config to maybe "admin" then you give the admin group permissionsex the permission chatcolorizer.group3 etc etc.

Currently you're only able to change username-colors for every player. Something like what you're asking for may come out in the next release.

Is it possible to have differently colored usernames for each rank?
If I don't want any prefixes and I want the members to have a yellow username and my mods to have a blue one (their minecraft usernames).

No commands. You give a group a permission and add players into that group. Group thingie is an external plugin, I like permissionsex
