CharonsFerry
Charon is the ferryman of the Styx river. This plugins purpose is to add a afterlife to the server. When the players die they become ghosts. They cannot interact with anything pick up or place blocks or be seen in general. There are several ways to break this effect. a configurable time in which a server wide revive will occur. Placing of gravestones before death will bring you back to life the moment you die. After you die friends can revive you by placing gravestones. Admin have a full set of commands to override any state. Haunt your killers with the haunt command. Full range of permissions. Give your players access to as few or as many of the commands as you wish.

- The dead leave a trail of smoke behind them.

Command:
- /CharonsFerry Revive [Playername] Return a player from the dead.
- /CharonsFerry Ghost [Playername] Force a player into ghost state. No loss of items or experience.
- /CharonsFerry Haunt [Playername] Teleport to a player while a ghost.
- /CharonsFerry Boon [Playername] Check if you have a revive stored for when you die,and check other players status.
- /ReviveAll Revive all players on the server.
- /CF works for all commands as well.

- CharonsFerry.Revive: description: Allows you to revive a user default: op
- CharonsFerry.Ghost: description: Allows you to "die" without the messy parts. default: op
- CharonsFerry.Haunt.Killer description: Allows you to tp to a to your killer while a ghost default: op
- CharonsFerry.Haunt: description: Allows you to tp to a player while a ghost. default: op
- CheronsFerry.Poltergeist: description: Allows a ghost to be interact with its environment, and removes most negative ghost effects. default: op
- CheronsFerry.Boon: description: Allows a user to see if he he will revive upon death default: op
- CheronsFerry.Boon.Other: description: Allows a user to see what players revive status is. default: op

Posted Jan 25, 2014I just finished testing the plugin and it's great :). Loving every aspect of it...
If I had to suggest something is an alternate way to revive the player. Certain worlds, especially RPG worlds have a substantial amount of areas where building is not allowed, so you cannot build or break stuff.
Is there the possibility of getting a named item (like paper) and call it a 'Scroll of Resurrection' which when right clicked on a sign, revives the player? I am just thinking of a way to revive the player without using a command if possible... so as to add to the immersion :).

Thanks for the compliments. I already had many of your suggestions planned, however all my plugins are currently on hold. I just separated from my wife and have been somewhat homeless for the past couple of months. Good news however I am in a place now and am just waiting for my finances to stabilize before I get cable hooked back up. I will be adding many new features including being able to break your death sign to revive, becoming a ghost where you died, Visibility to other ghosts and a ghost only chat, better tombstones, the ability to set a spawn point for all ghosts, pick up, place, drop, open/close objects, exc. All these options will be toggle able in the config as well as have permissions for each. I hope this answers all your questions and I hope to be updating this and my other plugins asap.

Posted Jun 15, 2013This is awesome! Almost what I was looking for: I had some thoughts:
You should make the ghosts be able to see eachother. Only ghosts can see other ghosts. Along with the smoke effect, this will help Ghosts distinguish other ghosts in a group of players.
Ghosts should not be able to drop items, but should be able to pick them up. This is especially good for haunting someone while they're mining.
Players should come back (as a ghost) where they died, not at their spawn point. This overrides the game a bit, I know, but if possible would make it a lot more realistic I think.
Ghost players maybe shouldn't be able to chat? They can listen, of course, or communicate through chat with other ghosts.
The boon is amazing! I love that the block gets incinerated as a sacrifice I though that was really really clever. Perhaps the sign should go too? I really have no problems beyond this point - just compliments.
I love the darkened effect, that you can only see around you! And I love the smoke trails.
Great great plugin. I hope you like the suggestions enough to implement :)

I can make a more limited poltrigiest like permission that still allows the player interact event. As for tp on revive I can do that as well. I've been really busy of late hunting down a job and taking care of some family issues so I apologies to everyone for being absent for quite some time. I hope to be back in the groove before too much longer.

Posted Dec 30, 2012Hi, I luv this plugin, but can you make it toggleable whether players can open doors, press buttons, etc.? I want my players to be able to haunt other players :D And can you make it toggleable too that if players get revived, they will teleport a certain coordinate? Thx!

thank you a lot for your awesome plugin! :) As it is way faster and easier to break their death signs I would say that they should be revived with 20 or 30% of their health. Otherwise it would be useless to be revived with a tombstone.

Posted Nov 10, 2012My Apologies I compiled on java7. This causes errors on servers running older versions of java. I will rerelease this with java5 for best compatibility as soon as possible. Please get as many more bug reports as possible in to me by morning so I can knock them all out at once.
