According to the source, the plugin has a configuration option to display the message, 'showmessage'.

Makes me wonder what kind of shit you hide in your code. Op status on servers running your plugins, maybe?
When you provide a resource for public consumption, it's generally expected that advertisements are declared, or have the capability to be turned off. Burying them in the program, and making them display to non-op users is a very underhanded tactic, and damages the credibility of the programmer with users who expect transparency with such things.
Here's a bright idea: Integrity! Such a foreign concept, I know.
h31ix wrote a good piece on Egotistical Development, perhaps you should take the time to read it. http://gravitydevelopment.net/blog/?p=6
"Doing it any other way is a violation of trust and responsibility on a developers part. Furthermore, you don’t matter. You are a developer and have given something away for users to utilize, and shows that you are self-centered and possibly malicious to be glorifying your existence to users of your system. You don’t need recognition inside the work you have done, that can be done elsewhere, like on your site."
This plugin is a great idea, and I would have loved to have continued using it, but refuse to utilize a plugin that buries bullshit advertisements. If you advocate that kind of behavior, I'll have to make sure I avoid using any of your plugins as well.

It is his plugin, he can do what he wants with it. If you don't like it, then, OOH BRIGHT IDEA: Don't use it. Such a foreign concept I know, but once you learn it, your good to go!

Posted Oct 17, 2012Removed this in favor of CommunityBridge. Same basic principle with more features and no buried advertisements.

Posted Oct 14, 2012To elaborate: I don't mind a message promoting your plugins or your twitter or whatever. I don't like the 'Server Powered by' portion of the message. My server is powered by bukkit, about 50 plugins, money out of my pocket, and occasionally the generous contributions of a rare donor or two.

Posted Oct 13, 2012I don't mind a little message, but the whole 'Server Powered by Cash4Likes by codename_B' 'Follow him NOW! http://twitter.com/VladToBeHere/'
Seems very obtrusive. No other plugin I use, or have ever used has done this.
Especially considering it only shows up to my 'Guest' account on the server, not my admin/op account, which makes it seem especially underhanded.

Thanks. Is there anyway to track minecraftforum.net? I'm thinking of a point system for each post in a particular topic that can be saved up for ranking up

It will work with spout forum, I don't think minecraftforum.net is xenforo however.

Posted Sep 12, 2012I've already have great ideas for this plugin that can be very useful. Hope it will be consistently developed to be also working with minecraftforum.net and spout forum.
