Caravan
The caravan plugin adds traveling caravans to your server. Caravans are guarded by Citizens 2 NPCs and vary in difficulty. As the caravan becomes better protected, the goods go up in value. Inspired in part by the Caravans you might find in the Fallout series.
Features

Commands
/caravan spawn [type] - creates a random caravan type at your position type can be "guard", "stationary", and "mobile".
Permissions
Caravan.* - Gives access to all the below
Caravan.spawn.* - Allows the player to spawn the below.
Caravan.spawn.guard- Allows the player to spawn caravan guards.
Caravan.spawn.stationary - Allows the player to spawn stationary caravans
Caravan.spawn.mobile - Allows the player to spawn mobile caravans
Caravan.inform - Informs the player that a caravan has spawned.
Configuration
RandomGeneration : (boolean true/false) Toggles random generation of caravans
Announce : (boolean true/false) Announces the creation of a caravan at position (x,y,z)
SpawnTime: (Integer) The minutes between the random generation of caravans
RoamingExpire: (Integer) The minutes before the caravan despawns.
StationaryExpire: (Integer) The minutes before the caravan despawns.
GuardDrops: (boolean true/false) Toggles item drops when killing Caravan Guards.

Posted Feb 6, 2013So knowing that your busy supporting the Races mod, How long until this mod will be completed?
Also is their going to be a way to have these caravans travel along a certain path to a city? Because I'm trying to find a Caravan mod that would travel between every Nation capitol in the server I use.
After looking at the races mod it seems pretty complete as is so im wondering if at all possible you could drive your focus more towards this mod?

Posted Nov 30, 2012I suggest using something similar to the body object of the Terrain Control plugin to randomly generate the actual caravans themselves, and then generate the NPC's inside of the caravan, but controlling them so that they can not go farther than x blocks away from the generated caravan. If all NPC's generated by the caravan are dead = Remove.

Posted Sep 23, 2012Reminds me of Fallout 3 caravan traders, Can you make it so you can kill and or rob them on top of regular trading? if you rob them 90% of there stuff is missing or something (add a consequence :P)

I wasn't saying anything about you, I was just saying if you're programming AI for the caravans, handling their inventories dynamically, etc. this could be a very ambitious project, depending on the amount of depth you put into it.

I can handle this just fine. However a release date will take a while as I am supporting the Races plugin as well and I do have a life outside of programming. (;
