BukkitInventoryTools
Project Status Update - 6/20/12
New: First beta of Digilock has been made available.
I have posted the last version (3.6) which is intended to restore a functional DigiLock system for chests. Its has issue, many issues. Backpack inventory drag functionality creates ghost inventory items, Shift+Click works, but is at time unpredictable, I recommend disabling Backpack or use at your own risk. Doubledoor mechanics DO NOT WORK. Sort works fine, books functionality is as it was. Again, this is a very buggy updates so please dont ask for bugs to be fixed in this release. This is a last ditch effort to restore digilock functionality while we wait for the new Digilock plugin to be finished. Keep reading for details on why we chose to do this.
Here is our plan for this plugin.
- Digilock - First beta release is now available, click the link a little farther down!
- Backpack - First beta has been released, click the link a little farther down!. No longer requires SpoutPlugin.
- Inventory Sort - Version 0.3 has been released. Follow link below.
- Books - This functionality has been removed and will not be re-added since Mojang is adding it to the core app.

Additional Comments: This has been a huge undertaking to re-code etc. I (dockter) have hired this out to a senior minecraft plugin developer. Please take that into consideration before filling up the comments section of this project screaming for an update to be completed. Rocologo ran out of his time to keep this up-to-date and I attempted to take it over and keep it current. With all the API changes in Spout and Bukkit I knew I was in over my head to keep a functional plugin working. That is why I decided to bring in a paid-developer to fix this properly once and for all. I personally have used this plugin since beta 1.7.3, it is a crucial part of my public Minecraft Server. There will be some additional details coming regarding both of these projects and I will update their new project pages once it becomes available to me.

Many thanks for your consideration.

Posted Mar 19, 2012Take your time mate, my server is doing fine with lwc as backup. And if you are a good admin, you will help your clients when they have to change stuff when this is updated. Still the most cool, and nice plugin so far. You got my vouch.

Posted Mar 19, 2012As another note, because of the Inventory API changes and some of the event system changes, we haven't been able to make this backwards compatible with version 1.1.
The instabilities of not only bukkit's API but with Spout, and its 4 API's has caused this delay.
Ya'll don't understand how complex this issue really is at the core, so please be patient.

Posted Mar 19, 2012There is a LOT of old code that needs to be re-done / updated, blame bukkit for deciding to change a sh*t ton of events, inventory API's with 1.2.x, along with everything else that was changed that is too long to even list. It took us almost a week to find / fix the onEntityDeath() NullPointerException error just to find out that the Bukkit team accidentally removed it from the API and didn't document it. They have since put the method back in their API but we didn't get back the hours of time it took to identify the core issue.
We are trying to do it as quickly as possible. I know how urgent it is. I can't upgrade our servers to 1.2.x until its done because its our core plugin for chest / door protection.

Please understand that Im investing actual "money" to get this updated since whats broken is beyond my skill level. Much of my testing is based on Spoutcraft and since that is currently NOT stable and NOT in RB, its not finished. Bukkit isn't even in RB for 1.2.x so dont push the envelope.

Posted Mar 19, 2012I really hope this is updated before my vacation is over. I really dont want to drop this plugin but players are raising hell about not having locks. LWC has been working since early 1.2 dev builds. And so have other plugins that deal with inventories.

The modular functionality isn't coming with the 3.5 update. Its going to mean basically a complete re-write of the program to break it up into pieces which is planned.
Things that still need to be addressed:
This basically the to-do list before I can release the 3.5 update for 1.2.3 R02+

Posted Mar 9, 2012Any progress? Players are hounding me I might just have to install lwc for locks and use this for backpack/sort. I dont really want to though. Would be great if this was more modular so we could still have locks even if backpack/sort are not working.
