BouncingArrows

Table of Contents

This small plugin adds a new concept to your world: Arrows that bounce off walls or objects, in the mirrored direction. This will make closed range PvP and PvE more interesting and challenging.

Usage

To shoot bouncing arrows, a player will need a bow that has a silk touch enchantment. Then, any arrow fired at a wall or other surface or entity will bounce off. The new direction of the arrow is the mirrored direction of the original projectile with respect to the surface hit. The speed of the arrow when it bounces depends on the force of the original shot.

Configuration

Please note that it's not possible to enchant a bow with the silk touch enchantment in survival mode. You may use that fact, along with other plugins, to control the ways this bow can be obtained or crafted by your players.

Beyond that, BouncingArrows is an extremely simple plugin. There are no commands. If you wish to give the ability to shoot boucning arrows only to one group of players, you can set the permission node "bouncingarrows.use". To bounce snowballs and eggs, use the permission "bouncingarrows.bounceother", which defaults to ops only.

I thinks bouncing bullets is good maybe bouncing grenades are much better.

Hey, really nice idea! I am using this now with some slight changes on my server and it's awesome!

Those changes are:

while (blockIterator.hasNext() && (nextBlock.getType() == Material.AIR || nextBlock.equals(hitBlock))) { -> this should reduce the amount of wrong results for the blockface with half-blocks like glasspanels, ironbars, flowerpots, etc.
some checks to let arrows still stick to wooden buttons and wooden plates
arrows are bouncing until they are too slow (also reduced that from 0.6 to 0.5)
reduced the arrow spray from 12 to 4
the new spawned arrows are no pickup-able by players, just like normal ones (sadly bukkit has no method for that, so it required some reflection..)
added bouncing for snowballs (0.3 threshold)
and I added some kind of "targetfinder" for players with the right permission, just for fun :P (if the angle between the arrows initial direction and the direction towards the target is small enough, it will slightly push the arrow towards the target)

hope arrow can bounce more than 1 time

Does arrow bounce on floor?

------ oops didn't notice version update Arrow bounces more than 1 time if it has higher silktouch level thx for plugin and nice idea :)

Hi would it be possible to add a permission?

I want to give this ability to donators only as im using mythic drops and bows drop quite frequently with silktouch on which is usually useless.

Btw Another wicked little plugin very good!
