I have not updated this plugin in over a year, I barely even play Minecraft anymore, I've gotten a full-time job, and nobody else on the team is interested in developing it either. It's time to put it to rest. With the release of name changing in Minecraft 1.8, this plugin is no longer functional. Please do not use it anymore. The code is mediocre at best, and was written by a college student with no real-world programming experience. You really shouldn't want the source code. If somebody comes up with a script to convert BOSEconomy files to work with a different economy plugin, let me know via PM and I can include it on this page.

BOSEconomy is a simple, lightweight economy plugin. Every player owns an amount of currency and can make simple payments between one another. Read below to see all of the available features.
BOSEconomy stands for "Brotherhood of Slaughter Economy". The plugin was originally designed for our community's Minecraft server.
Features:
- Simplicity: install and go setup. Place the plugin in your folder and modify the files.
- Flexibility: Robust system able to accommodate the simplest of economy setups or the most complex economic setups to date.
- Reliability: Works with almost every Bukkit update without any need to update our plugin. ( no long waits for plugin fixes upon new Bukkit release )
- Standard: One of the leading Economy plugins. Backed by plugin API's such as Vault and Register. This means any plugin that uses vault or register as its backbone will make our plugin work with it without any need to change either persons code.
- Scalability: Control the functions of your econ based off of the size of your server base. With in game commands to modify almost every aspect of the plugin there is nothing you cant control.
- Ingenuity: Procedures put in place that provide the server owner with the "Sky is the limit" mindset. With options and controls to almost every aspect of the plugin there are hundreds of ways to make an econ system.
- Dependable: This plugin is constantly monitored and maintained. One of the most annoying factors to server owners is when a plugin loses support because of the owners disinterest in Minecraft. That will not occur with this as my communities server is very popular and proves to be a cornerstone for our gaming needs.

Posted Oct 30, 2012Hi there, I'm having issues converting my ICO accounts.mini file into the accounts.txt file. I'm assuming I'm using the correct file!
The second link you have up works, so I have some data conversion, but the first doesn't; it only loads errors. Am I doing something wrong?

That would be beyond this plugin. I can talk to a few people about making one but yes that would most certainly be the operation of another system. I have thought about this though and thought about adding it at some point... so maybe it will show up in the next version. Hm... ill add it to the vote.

Posted Oct 29, 2012Can you make it where you can customize how much money to lose if you die, in a specific way..with a message appearing eg. creeper detonated you wallet - you lost $50, Enderman took your coins - you have lost $10.
Also do you know a bank plugin where you can store your money? So you don't loose your money, but can't access it until you visit the right bank. (like realbank for items)

This is a plugin for economy not a lesson in economics. Out of the box the plugin will work and give the players the ability to have a wallet to share, trade, spend cash. If your desire is to learn how the advanced systems of the plugin work there is a written guide that explains that and a very well documented IN GAME help system.
In one of the videos I even hint on some of the possible features that you could go into. I teach you everything you need to know to be "dangerous". We have created a system that has tax brackets and everything! So honestly, out of the box, you can do almost anything you desire you simply have to play with the setup and watch the videos. If you get stuck, sure, ask some questions but dont pretend like the information is not out there already.

Chestshop doesnt work that way. If you wanted that feature you should speak with the creator of that plugin.

All permission nodes are already documented, read more than the first page of this site. http://dev.bukkit.org/server-mods/boseconomy/pages/permission-nodes/ and before you go saying they need descriptions, I am fairly certain most of those are plain English that even the noobest of noobs would understand. If you have specific ones that get you or other people lost ask for that info instead and we can share that out.

This is an OUT of the box system. The players do not have to have ANY nodes.... unless you want them to access different things than pay people. If you want your player base to be able to access other information and other aspects you just have to look at the permissions node name and it tells you exactly what it does.

For those who are curious, Secant, our main coder, learned how to do SQL and work has been started on the official version of SQL. Because of the simplicity of what we plan to do, we will support it as well as supporting the sql version. More information to come soon.

Our server has 28k boseconmy accounts. How can we delete inactive ones with 0 in balance? It takes a good minute to load the server because of boseconomy.

An admin shop is designed not to be linked to an account, just to the server's infinite money pool. If you want it linked to a player account (real or not) it cannot be an adminshop.

Posted Oct 11, 2012Great plugin, easy to use and setup. If you don't understand how money in real life works or have knowledge on money then the way this plugin works may confuse you. But if you follow the videos they have you can easily set the plugin up the way you wish. Love this plugin and hope it sticks around for a while.

Posted Oct 5, 2012This seems like a great plugin, but setup is pretty confusing. Sure there are the videos on YouTube (most of them are in another language haha) but the English ones that i did see didn't explain much. They basically went over the config setup and in-game commands, but left out what the plugin is actually capable of doing.
I'm not trying to be a critic, like i said, it seems like a great plugin. I'd just like to see some more thorough videos that explain the plugin more thoroughly. Maybe explain the purpose of banks (since you dont need them to pay wages, i dont see a purpose in them) and how to set up a basic economic system for a server (taxes, bank accounts, ect...)
