BOSEconomy
This plugin is no longer supported.
I have not updated this plugin in over a year, I barely even play Minecraft anymore, I've gotten a full-time job, and nobody else on the team is interested in developing it either. It's time to put it to rest. With the release of name changing in Minecraft 1.8, this plugin is no longer functional. Please do not use it anymore. The code is mediocre at best, and was written by a college student with no real-world programming experience. You really shouldn't want the source code. If somebody comes up with a script to convert BOSEconomy files to work with a different economy plugin, let me know via PM and I can include it on this page.
Thanks for the support I got while it lasted, and sorry for going silent and letting everyone down.

BOSEconomy is a simple, lightweight economy plugin. Every player owns an amount of currency and can make simple payments between one another. Read below to see all of the available features.
BOSEconomy stands for "Brotherhood of Slaughter Economy". The plugin was originally designed for our community's Minecraft server.
Features:
- Simplicity: install and go setup. Place the plugin in your folder and modify the files.
- Flexibility: Robust system able to accommodate the simplest of economy setups or the most complex economic setups to date.
- Reliability: Works with almost every Bukkit update without any need to update our plugin. ( no long waits for plugin fixes upon new Bukkit release )
- Standard: One of the leading Economy plugins. Backed by plugin API's such as Vault and Register. This means any plugin that uses vault or register as its backbone will make our plugin work with it without any need to change either persons code.
- Scalability: Control the functions of your econ based off of the size of your server base. With in game commands to modify almost every aspect of the plugin there is nothing you cant control.
- Ingenuity: Procedures put in place that provide the server owner with the "Sky is the limit" mindset. With options and controls to almost every aspect of the plugin there are hundreds of ways to make an econ system.
- Dependable: This plugin is constantly monitored and maintained. One of the most annoying factors to server owners is when a plugin loses support because of the owners disinterest in Minecraft. That will not occur with this as my communities server is very popular and proves to be a cornerstone for our gaming needs.

The question would be, could you use the sign shop plugins with BOSEconomy ;-) As long as the sign shop plugin requires vault or register, you should be fine I think

Thanks for the reply Secant. This is something I'm quite interested in - that is, consequences for overdrafts. Is dealing with account overdrafts left to Vault, and is there currently any distinction in the code between something like a BOS subscription/Towny rent and a player trying to buy something from a shop they can't afford? I'm not an expert coder, but I'd be willing to crack my knuckles and try to hack something like this together for my server if it was possible. I'd rather not start on a fool's errand, though - especially as a hobbyist/intermediate Java guy.
Still, looking forward to 7.4! Even if it means I have to figure out how to deal with SQL...

The pay command cannot target offline players at all. I plan to add this as an option in a future update. The admin "add" command will work on offline players. If you are getting that message about account groups, it's because you don't have the "BOSEconomy.accountgroup.players" permission node.

No... never really thought about the deletion of accounts. Prob could make a script would easily do that.

Dont quote me, but i am almost certain you can pay offline players. you need to type their full name.

Posted May 31, 2012Is there no way to pay players who are offline? It just says "Could not find any players matching 'Playername'"
And when I try to set their money using /econ add Player 10000 then it says "You aren't allowed to specify players for account groups"

Posted May 30, 2012For those of you who are understandably frustrated with the lack of progress lately, I feel like I should explain the current situation. BOSEconomy v0.7.4 is in limbo right now due to some major stability issues that the permission accounts are causing. An SQL version has been worked on in parallel, and I'm likely going to change focus to that and release the SQL version instead (as v1.0.0).
@Lolseeker
I'm not sure why the issue would relate to MineTeller. I found the exact cause of the error in the report that you provided: loading an account which doesn't have a "type" data field. Your accounts.txt file ran properly on my test server, and I couldn't replicate the problem with MineTeller installed either. When you say you restarted the server without MineTeller, I assume that the only thing you did was dump it in a folder somewhere so Bukkit wouldn't load it.
@empathdemon
It's a feature that could be added in the future, but it doesn't hold the high priority of SQL, permission accounts, and world-independent economies. I wouldn't count on it coming out in the next update.

I would really appreciate it! You made a good point there, but what if you don't want experience on your server? Then abusing the xp bar is the simplest way to get a decent money display ;-) And that's exactly what I wanna do if possible!

Posted May 29, 2012Hello,
I'm interested in a system that would let me demote players if they get billed for something they can't afford - say, a plot tax, or a loan repayment. Will BOSE 7.4 support this functionality, and... probably your most-asked question... when will it be released?
Thanks

This is the link to the file: Link Removed: http://www.mediafire.com/?kq036lebk8dnscm
And I didn't change anything when removing MineTeller after the error happened. I just restarted the server without it.

Posted May 29, 2012@Lolseeker I believe I know what is causing that error, but it shouldn't have anything to do with MineTeller. Does it still occur if you disable MineTeller while leaving everything else exactly the same? Can you provide us with a copy of your accounts.txt file? The problem should be that one or more of the accounts is missing a "type" data value.

This looks like it is related to simplepluginloader, and not bosecon... but i will pass the info off to Cosine and see what he thinks.

Posted May 29, 2012Hey, BOSEconomy crashes when I want to use it with the plugin MineTeller This is what it gives:
The server still shows that it's up, so it's strange. Players can't check their wallets etc, so commands are disabled
Any ways how I could fix this? Is this a problem on my end or the plugin's end?
