Description
What it is
This plugin gives you the ability to sneak attack anyone. A sneak attack will double the damage given upon that person

Permissions
- BlotheraAssassin.* - Gives access to both abilities
- BlotheraAssassin.SneakAttack - Allows you to Sneak attack an opponent for 2X damage
- BlotheraAssassin.SneakAttack.Stop - Stops anyone that trys to sneak attack you

It's working fine and exactly how it's supposed to on my end. It might be your host. I've seen problems in the past where certain hosts only allow certain plugins.

This really should work in 1.4. I don't think any methods or anything that I use have changed enough to break it but on the off chance that it is broken please let me know any errors or bugs that you find and I'll be sure to fix them as soon as I can.

Posted Aug 21, 2012Hello, the sneak aattack is just what I need, but do you think you could add a cool down on it sinse you could 2 shot kill? Like a config for cooldown. Also could you add Climbing walls, no fall damage, Double the jump, Double the normaly player speed, If you could add these I will love you so much becazse I am looking for a plugin that can do this for my server :/

Actually, no, you're right. Especially with time-delay weapons, like arrows. If you fire and then do a super tactical 180 noscope trickshot you'll be facing the correct direction to "backshot" as it were.
I'd still argue, though, that my code is a step in the right direction. I can promise you I've never had players able to sidestab or frontstab and get the backstab bonus. Any of those shenanigans would be from the fact that arrows take time to travel and give you time to twist.

It would still be possible to hit the back of someone without it registering, and it would be possible to hit the side an possibly the front of someone with it registering as the back if I were to make it work right for hitting the back.

But it doesn't matter if it reads as hitting the player's back or not. You just care if the angles are right and someone was hit. If that's true, then they hit the player's back, guaranteed. There's not even a need to confirm if the attacker is really behind the victim because how the hell would they hit them otherwise?
Back when I wrote Lua for GarrysMod I made a knife that could backstab. The code I used was victim:GetForward():DotProduct(attacker:GetAimVector() > 0. where GetForward is pretty much GetAimVector just without pitch. People were able to make themselves unstabbable by running around staring at the sky.

yes but (if I'm remembering this right) say that the yaw of one player was 98 and the yaw of another was 145 it would be possible to hit the back of the player but with a distance that far apart it would probably read as not hitting the player's back
