General Description

In 1.4 Anvils got added to Minecraft with the power to edit names like changing a Diamond Sword to "Notch's Death Sword" but when you kill a player with the sword it just says "Victim was slain by You" why not have it say "Victim was slain by You holding Notch's Death Sword" I felt this was needed so I made this plugin.

This plugin does check to see if it does have a name NBT tag so you don't get a message like "Victim was slain by You holding "

This plugin contains no commands nor does it have any permissions if you would like any I am open to suggestions!

This plugin is made for 1.4+ but it would work on older servers if you add the NBT tags yourself.

I stopped working on this plugin because the features are now implemented in Vanilla and they do a better job than me at it.

Happens when I kill someone with no custom named sword. NO ingame issues thou.

I think it would be a good idea to create sort of a blacklist of words the plugins recognize as an item name. For instance, a player named their sword something vulgar it would either bleep it out or just say the original item name.

Is there any chance you will be adding config in the form of us being able to customize what each death message is? I've seen other death msg plugins that do similar things to this, yet none of them allow us to make our own custom messages.

I would think it possible.

Better Death has been updated to fix a bug with the plugin submitting errors when you get killed in a non PVP battle eg. Zombie

Ive notice that if a player is not killed by a player and is killed by something else. there are 200 lines of ERROR SEVERE Could not pass event PlayerDeathEvent to BetterDeath v1.0
