Better Backpacks

Better Backpacks
Version: v2.0.5

Features:

Adds 6 backpacks to the game with different slot sizes from 9 to 54
Configurable item representation
Configurable recipe for each backpack
Anvil naming support

Installation:

Drop BetterBackpacks.jar into plugins directory
Run Server
Edit config.yml to your liking
Stop and restart server
Enjoy!

Usage:

Create a backpack using the recipe setup in the config. Right click item to open backpack. That's it! Easy enough!
Information on custom recipes and items can be found with-in the config.yml

You can give another player a backpack using the following command:
Sizes are in intervals of 9, Max 54.

/bp give [player] [backpacksize]

Permissions:

BetterBackpacks.* - Admin node. Access to all.
BetterBackpacks.give - Access to /bp give command
BetterBackpacks.reload - Access to /bp reload
BetterBackpacks.openothers - Allows player to open backpack that does not belong to him/her.
More permissions may be added

Commands:

/backpack - or - /bp
/bp give [player] [size]
/bp reload
More commands may be added

when I try to open it, it says no bag found.

It's not opening up when I turn on the server. I used it on my friend's computer and it worked but it doesn't for my computer.

Both of our computers have the same server folder incase I'm over at his house and we want to play and we start up the server there. BetterBackpacks loads when he starts the server on HER computer, but it doesn't when I do on MY computer.

nice plugin, some suggestions;

make it when a player already has a backpack lets say one of size 9, and gets an upgrade to 18 it should resize the existing one and not give an entirely new backpack altogether. Also when players die they loose there backpacks, is that intentional? how would you get them back if you loose the item?

I need more information. What were you doing in detail at the server the SQL error occurred? Also please pastebin a full server log

This is due to bukkit item stacks not storing custom nbt that mods use for items. I've been looking for universal way to fix this issue for a while now that doesn't involve nms code but have come up empty for quite sometime. Eventually I'll figure something out. Any suggestions would be much appreciated

Hi, can you please added a MythicMobs items support ? The backpack is deleting items options (Attack damage, Speed and more)

actually its a bukkit bug. I've never seen the items become real before, they usually disappear eventually. either way nothing I can do about it. this plugin is 1.7.4 compatible, I'd recommend using that

Yes, same. and the duplicated one sometimes is fake, sometimes is real.

more test: when using mc client 1.7.4, this problem goes away. so maybe it's a client-side bug.(?)

but player can use this two version(both 1.7.2 and 1.7.4) to join a 1.7.2 server...I don't know how to deal with that...

If I click backpack items when one backpack is being opened, I will get 2 backpack items:(

spigot and mc1.7.2

That's not makeable with bukkit. You need a Forge Mod to make that. There's one Mod out there that do that. Look for Realistic Backpack Mod in Google. This is what you searching for.

uhhhhh, why cant anyone make a model of a back back that actually goes on your back and you can see it in 3rd person mode?

I messed up. I was doing some tests and forgot to fix the config. On backback18 change the recipe for center block from backpack9 to whatever item you want. default is chest

Just uploaded update with naming support. Waiting bukkit approval!

Beware, I setup a conversion system that converts old backpacks to the new format. My testing didn't find any issues but there is no guarantee. Recommend emptying backpacks before updating just to be on the safe side.
