Better Backpacks

Better Backpacks
Version: v2.0.5

Features:

Adds 6 backpacks to the game with different slot sizes from 9 to 54
Configurable item representation
Configurable recipe for each backpack
Anvil naming support

Installation:

Drop BetterBackpacks.jar into plugins directory
Run Server
Edit config.yml to your liking
Stop and restart server
Enjoy!

Usage:

Create a backpack using the recipe setup in the config. Right click item to open backpack. That's it! Easy enough!
Information on custom recipes and items can be found with-in the config.yml

You can give another player a backpack using the following command:
Sizes are in intervals of 9, Max 54.

/bp give [player] [backpacksize]

Permissions:

BetterBackpacks.* - Admin node. Access to all.
BetterBackpacks.give - Access to /bp give command
BetterBackpacks.reload - Access to /bp reload
BetterBackpacks.openothers - Allows player to open backpack that does not belong to him/her.
More permissions may be added

Commands:

/backpack - or - /bp
/bp give [player] [size]
/bp reload
More commands may be added

I posted a link to the textures X00LA created. I'm also working on given the backpacks anvil support ~~however this will break backpacks from old versions.~~ As for keeping the backpack on death, why not just set the server keepInventory = true?

I agree with your ideas! They are great! I've already send him a pack of textures in 16x16 and 32x32. They not a masterpiece but hey, better than noting I would say. ;-)

If anyone would use the textures anywhere here they are: Pack includes 16 and 32 pixel versions.

Hello, I'm a owner of a minecraft server and I use your plugin as our main storage. When we do this the backpack were numbered therefore not having names and making it so we have to know What is in which backpack, basically saying you should make it so we can name a backpack so the backpacks are more sortable. I also agree with X00LA that the backpacks should have there own texture. And you should also add in the config.yml being able to keep the backpack in inventory upon death: true(therefore making the backpack stay in your inventory when you die.

So I think you should add- 1. Names for backpacks. 2. Textures for the backpacks(X00LA said he can make some) 3. Keep backpack in inventory upon death: true to the config.yml

I do like this idea however manipulating crafting recipes is a pain. I'm still trying to find an efficient way to allow upgrading from one backpack to another. I'll do my best to see what I can do in the future

I Assume your referring to resource pack textures. I'm no good with textures. If you would like to make some and I like them I will post a link to them

Hi!

Your plugin is very useful, but i have one little question. Is there any way, you add some icons for the backpacks? This would be great! The icons we have from vanilla MC are not the best for this kind of plugins. If you need some icons, I can make some for you.

Is it possible to add max number of backpacks of each in config file? So that for example I can give my players max 2 9 slots and 1 18 slots backpack. max numbers would make this pluginn perfect.

There is a huge dupe glitch when two people open two of the same backpacks resulting in items being duplicated. Is there any way for this to be fixed as it seems like a useful plugin.

I would love that! The only thing keeping me from using this plugin is that there are no permission nodes for allowing players to use/craft certain backpacks.

Hello, Hhrunting here awesome plugin! how about adding some permission nodes for each backpack? That way i could give even more to my donators without making everyone able to carry almost 2 full chests on them, because currently i only use a small extra invo 9-18! but i'd like to be able to give 8-16-24 and have that extra 54 slot backpack left for donators! :D

One more thing to check on not sure if you saw my PM on crafting bags. (code does not seem to honor the size when crafting.) Which is strange because the /bp give command works just fine.
