NOTICE
For updated files, please use the BattleArena2 page. It has all of our updated files, and many of the issues that exist in the latest version here have been fixed through updates.
Default Competitions (all changeable)
- Arena: Fight with what is given to you in the config. You can't bring items in or out
- Skirmish: Bring in what you want to fight with, you take out whatever you pick up
- Battlegrounds: Winner is the highest kills after 1 minute. 4 teams may compete
- Colosseum: 4 teams against each other, last man standing wins
- FFA: last player/team left standing wins
- deathmatch: 2 minute event where if you die you respawn. Highest kills wins
Tournaments
- tourney: Pick a match type and do a single elimination tournament of that type.

Posted Apr 1, 2013I followed through making an arena, and i just get the command syntax.
When i try to /arena create lastman 2 4 it returns /arena create <name> [team size] [# of teams]
am i doing something wrong because I followed the guide EXACTLY.

Is it all the time or just some of the time? Also when does it happen? like when they teleport from different worlds, or from creative mode.
If you have MultiInv then I know there are some conflicts there that I try to workaround. let me know!

Also I'm finding that in the duck-shoot I set up, the mobs leave tons and tons of drops that never get picked up or reset.
I looked through the page of Options on the wiki and couldn't find anything that prevents mobs from dropping loot, or that would clear all drops in the arena when the round ends.
Could one of those be included in the new update too? :D

Right now there are not a lot

and they will be changing slightly. Coming soon (within a week or two) there will be MobKills, PlayerKills, AllKills. With a point system to determine how much those are worth.

Posted Apr 1, 2013Hi I tried that file but now none of the arenas are working. I doubt that the file u gave me is the cause it probably me mucking something up. This time it says there are not enough teams for the CTF and for DM the same thing unable to start the arena.

When that happens it's because the plugin didnt load correctly for some reason. If you restart the server paste the error that happens on startup.

Thanks again for the guidance last night. Everything seemed to be working great (except the fact that killing mobs doesn't count towards your killCount -- thanks also for attempting to integrate that feature!) but shortly after you logged off I reloaded the server, and now when I do /arena join it says:
/arena <create|alter|join|leave|top...> [arguments]
I get the same output when I try /arena list all
When I try /aa select bullseye it says no arena named 'bullseye' exists.
So I figured something must have borked up and I tried to re-create the arena, but whenever I try "/arena create bullseye" I get that same output as above:
/arena <create|alter|join|leave|top...> [arguments]
What is even more alarming, when I type "/arena help" I get the same output! ie, I can't even bring up the help menu that matches the "/ffa help" menu.
My thought is to just nuke my config and start from scratch but I figured I'd see if there's anything that occurs to you for a fix. If not I'll nuke the config and re-configure the arena while I wait for the mob-scoring update :D

I meant the DeathmatchConfig.yml. That other looks fine.
No compatible nms block class found sounds like some other plugin.

Posted Apr 1, 2013I did not touch anything in the config file that is why I am confused. I looked at my console and ran the command /battleground help and no error came up in console except:

Hey Mick, if you hop onto irc right now I can help you directly. But it sounds like something might be having an error on startup. Look at the server.log when the server starts.
For the arena deleting itself, which BattleArena version are you using ? /bad version. But it sounds like you might have changed something in the config that stops it from saving.. you can pastebin it here and I'll look

Posted Apr 1, 2013I am having two problems with my battle arena. I have an arena called PVP and everytime I change anything in the specific arena config the arena deletes itself and I have to re-set it. Also when I use any commands like /arena join or /battleground help it brings up white writing that says:
/arena <join:leave> [arguments]
It was working earlier and all of a sudden it does not work anymore. And also the battlearena config file itself has been empty a couple of times. I have done nothing with it other than leave the game and now it just does not work.
I have MobArena / SpleefArena / PaintballArena / BattleArena installed

If you have 3 arenas that are all the same teamsize then probably its messing spawn points or something.. cant think of any other reason. You can pastebin me your arenas.yml and I can check.

So right now the /arena reload, command isn't working right. I bet its fixed on restart.
