Battle Arena

Minigames Framework, PvP, and Solo combat with limitless customization

NOTICE

For updated files, please use the BattleArena2 page. It has all of our updated files, and many of the issues that exist in the latest version here have been fixed through updates.

Default Competitions (all changeable)

Arena: Fight with what is given to you in the config. You can't bring items in or out
Skirmish: Bring in what you want to fight with, you take out whatever you pick up
Battlegrounds: Winner is the highest kills after 1 minute. 4 teams may compete
Colosseum: 4 teams against each other, last man standing wins
FFA: last player/team left standing wins
deathmatch: 2 minute event where if you die you respawn. Highest kills wins

Tournaments

tourney: Pick a match type and do a single elimination tournament of that type.

You can do things such as add "power:10" to items if that's what you mean. But there isn't anything to give multiple effects on a splash potion.

Which plugin is it? I override most teleports to make them work.. it must be a pretty aggressive plugin.

Yeah we talked about this.. WGCustomFlags is running the commands through a separate thread, and Minecraft is nearly all single threaded. We can talk on the issues page.

People stay in the arena after battles as they cannot teleport away due to my anti-pvplog plugin which disables teleportation whilst in pvp O_O

I read the section, and I understand that you can give players effects, but I didn't see anything on giving splash potions with custom effects. I'm trying to give a class a splash potion that has instant damage 2, and strength 1 for 15 seconds.

Also is there a way to give items with attributes without using the give command in console? Example of items with attributes: http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=6J4tJ_YylQ0

Hey Darlext, what version are you using? ./ba version. I uploaded then took down a version which had some new Scoreboard Objectives that was causing that problem. Basically it shouldn't happen with the versions you can download as normal from here. Also, come catch me on irc http://webchat.esper.net/?nick=&channels=battleplugins, would like to make sure I resolve the problem before I release again. (or I'll just take that out completely)

Hi,Great Plugin! I use it on my server and I want to shared a problem, but I suppose there isn't a plugin problem... Sometimes when I (or someone) is playing a minigame, I (and all the other participants) get a client crash :s Does anyone have any idea of this?

Is there a way to give custom potions in kits? (Example: potion of blindness and wither). If not do you think you could implement this in the next update?

The non commercial license is just to protect me from people selling the code, tweaking the code and selling it as their own, using my code in their commercial close source code, or wrapping the BattleArena code with an extension and selling it as a separate product (Though you could make them download BattleArena from here, and you sell them the extension game by itself). The BattleArena code and plugin should be available freely.

If you want to sell permissions for ranks (that give them the ability to join certain games, or choose different classes) that is totally fine. If you want to make custom games based off the BattleArena API, you could sell those as well. In fact most things that you do will be fine. You can make crazy games and 3rd party extension plugins for BattleArena that are completely under your control to sell or whatever. You can also use BattleArena to get donations, you just can't sell BattleArena.

To summarize, you can't take the BattleArena code and sell it as your own, or wrap it up into commercial code.

Read the above reply, but if you want... you can always give me a certain amount of money ;) But you don't need to pay me anything to sell permission for classes. Honestly though if you want to donate.. that would always be appreciated :)

I also have a question about the non commercial license. If I give you a certain amount of money, or make you an admin on my server, would I be allowed to have players pay for classes?

Heyo! ive a question about this plugin which is to do with the 'Non commercial' license on it.

If someone was to make classes with a different plugin, made them available to use in this plugins gamemodes and was then to sell those classes (created with an outside plugin) would that go against the Non Commercial license?

The reason im asking isnt for personal profit, it would be for a small community of friends.

Another question is, if it is possible to grant people classes made via this plugin and only ways to obtain those classes was to vote for the server, would that go against the Non Commercial license? Voting for a server isnt really profit, but it is - in a sense - publicity?

The teleport in on a pressure plate would have to be a code change, you can come onto irc so we can talk. But you probably want them to teleportWaitRoom in onJoin. Then teleportIn inside onStart.

Im so lost its not even funny anymore...lol

Ok maybe you can help.... I have an arena built, and a weapon shop/lobby area just out side the arena. So when people type /ffa join it drops them in the lobby so they can get weapons and then when they have done that they walk on a pressure plate that spawns them into a random place inside the arena with armor and potions depending on the kit.

So heres the problem: I type /ffa join < -- it works fine. Then it gives me 30 secs for game start.... after the 30 secs we can fight in the lobby area even tho its a no pvp region.

what I want it to do is, you type /ffa join you pick your weapons. then stand on the kit/tele pad. your in the game no waiting.

I hope you can help, thanks.

That ugly message is what happens when you accidently mess up a yaml file. Check for tabs, or improper spaces.
