BananaBackup

Need a backup program that just works?

BananaBackup is designed from the ground up to be simple and just work.

It backs up your server worlds (just the region files) to timed and dated zip files - nothing more.

It can also update the plugins too!

Need to cut out the lag?

The delay between .mcregion file writing is 100% configurable! (and the writing is 100% threaded) so you can choose any delay you like from 0ms to 5000ms, just set the option in the config file! Higher delays mean less noticable lag, but also slower backups.

Permissions?

None at the minute, it just uses a simple isOp() check.

Which folder do I put the bannana backup?does it go in the plugins folder and then do I edit the config details? The server provider I am using is Kerplunc!!!!!!

Another plugin that dont have basic thing - backups set on custom time. Kingdom for backup plugin that allow me to set backup in my hours. Like 0:00 5:00 15:00 .. not every X hours. because if I start server in 8:00 it start count from that 8:00 and that is bad :(

I'm not sure if this is practical but:
• What if you did a full initial backup
• At a specified interval(say 30 or an hour), backup only the files that had changed.
• At another interval(maybe weekly) consolidate for a new full backup.

2/3 of my map have not been changed since December and 1/3 since November. It seems a waste to repeatedly backup seldom used areas. I have been using Backup and now it all but shuts down my server.

I put this to you because you are the first I've seen to implement another wish of mine and that is the delay.

Just installed Banana Backup and getting ready to install BPerms

Any progress on the automated backup deletion? This is by far the best backup plugin available, but I have to log into my server every other day to just to manually remove backups or I risk the chance of maxing out the space on my hard drive!

HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLUGIN

Downloaded this plugin, ran this plugin, edited the simple formatted config.yml, now my world and plugins are backed up every 6 hours (Default=12) and there is little lag as you can change the delay. Thank you so much.

Hey, I love the banana plugins and I was wondering if you could add support for this plugin that's become inactive. http://forums.bukkit.org/threads/in...-creates-a-world-of-dungeons-953.20167/page-4 It's a world generator plugin that generates a maze which contains triggered mob spawns and treasure chests. There were 3 different levels of difficulty and whenever everyone left the "Dungeon" the chests rooms would reset and such. I was hoping for another plugin developer to take it over, but no one has. And I thought, what better developers to ask than TeamBanana? (Or whatever you group call yourselves )

Point is, the plugins with "Banana" in the beginning of them are really good, and it be great if you could make the plugin above even better

@Codename_B: Any chance of an option to backup the entire root folder into a zipped file? I like knowing that if my server blows up, I can just get another host and upload the root. I do this manually now, but having a plugin do it for me, would be awesome! I know that this might cause lag on some servers, but it'd be a great feature for those of us who have great hosts. Thanks!

Kudos on making a great little backup plugin. This is the first I've seen that doesn't lag my server all to hell (because of the delay interval you provided)

Would love for an option to remove old backups automatically though.
