Usage and Information:
This plugin utilises Hidendra's plugin metrics system, which means that the following information is collected and sent to mcstats.org:
- A unique identifier
- The server's version of Java
- Whether the server is in offline or online mode
- The plugin's version
- The server's version
- The OS version/name and architecture

- The number of players online
- The Metrics version Opting out of this service can be done by editing plugins/Plugin Metrics/config.yml and changing opt-out to true.
This plugin features an update command which will check if you are running the latest build and download the update to the plugin folder if it not currently installed. You are required to trigger the command manually and you must restart or reload the server for changes to take effect.
Thanks to my donators!

Posted Jan 19, 2014Could you please add an option for variables, etc %player for the player's name the message is being broadcasted to? This would be great if it was included in the next release.

I would be glad to switch to your announcer plugin, but there is one thing missing: an "/automesage say bla bla bla" command, I use it to broadcast current news or such. Also some plugins are hooked on such a command on my current plugin of choice, which sadly is becomming outdated.

Do /automessage reload, some plugins work like that way, you can't just config and restart the server, you got to either stop the server, and config the file, or config it and reloading it.

Posted Jan 12, 2014The message I want to add is too long to type in chat and for some reason, when I edit my config.yml file, save it, and reload or restart the server, the .yml file reverts to what it was before I edited it. Any ideas?

Posted Jan 10, 2014hi i love this plugin and have been using it for a long time pretty much my favorite broadcasting plugin by far. the one thing is and im hoping it could be put in. is that when you type in chat and send links to sites these links are clickable and able to be copy pasted my best thing id call it would be a hyperlink i like this feature its in bukkit itself. with this plugin i would like to be able to send the broadcasts like anyone normally would and with links to say my website or youtube channel or anything i would like broadcasted across my server but with the hyperlink intact so that people can click the link in the broadcast and go to the sites ALOT easier.. please

Posted Jan 10, 2014Hi, I got two problems with new update:
My messages was converted to new format wrongly. (I think that reason was that some includes "-") ... that's ok, I just must merget in one row again
But whats worse "\n" for new row stops working. "\" is ignored and "n" is normally writen on the screen. What's tag for new row now?
It should be good make a note to changelog when you changed something important like this.

Posted Jan 8, 2014I love using this plugin on my server but I've encountered a permissions problem. The broadcast perms work just fine but I can't get the commands to work unless I'm op. I've given myself these nodes: automessage.* and automessage.commands.*. I'm using Essentials Group Manager and this is the only plugin where I've encountered this problem. The permissions check command in game says the perms are true for my IGN. Any help with this would be appreciated. It'd be much more convenient if I could do the automessage commands in game without being op.

Posted Jan 8, 2014first of all thanks for this great plugin, that I also consider as MAJOR on my server.
Since the 2.4 however, I encounter the same problem as discribed below :
WARNING: The plugin seems to overwrite the config.yml every time after reload, shuffling the sequence of message groups and changing your file format of messages (not the ingame format, but the editor format). Sometimes it uses the "?" before the message, sometimes not. Don't fight this, accept it as it comes as long as ingame message dispay is fine. The plugin provides a virgin config.yml in case of errors. So any changes you made might get lost on any new edit!!! KEEP A SEPARATE BACKUP OF CONFIG.YML AT ALL TIMES when editing manually :)
how shall I update the message list, then ? each time I do, it gets wiped... thanks a lot for your kind support, and keep up the good work !

Posted Jan 7, 2014In version 2.4.0 Messages longer than 128 signs are not recognized and will be questionmarked in the config. Could you increase the sign limit please?
Beside that: Automessage is a great plugin, I can't imagine how our Server would be running without it.

Posted Jan 3, 2014Hello, I'm using very long commands for my messages and this might be why I'm having an issue.
The commands work when I force them with /am broadcast. However, they're not running automatically (enabled: true, interval: 300, expiry: -1).
It looks like this when I save the file.
After reloading the plugin, it looks like this... (still works with /am broadcast).
Can anyone help me? Thanks. :)

Posted Jan 1, 2014That's strange to hear.
I've never had any trouble with this plugin and I've been using it for a year or so. I've been very happy with it.
Next time you have trouble with some plugin perhaps instead of saying "fuck this" you could ask for help or file a bug report with detailed information. It usually helps and many of the plugin developers are very nice and open to suggestions.
Have a nice new year 2014.

Posted Dec 31, 2013This plugin was poorly made. I've had to many problems with it. And honestly I've found a way better auto message then this. The MOST ANNOYING PROBLEMS OF ALL on this plugin is when I want to manually put in a message it ether, 1: get's an error and I have to delete the whole configuration over and 2: When I put a message in and I want to manually edit the message in the config file, it just ignores the saves I've made to it and just sticks to the old message I had. That is something that I hate the most. Not only is this plugin poorly made, but it just lacks the user friendly configuration. Honestly, you'd be better off making something small, and NOT a auto messaging program/plugin. If you really want to make this good and use friendly, then I suggest taking a few things out in the java script. Because I can't do anything with any of the messages. Also there's an error when people log into my server, they get spammed with the auto message EVEN THOUGH I set the timing on it to 60 seconds PER MESSAGE. That also tells me that this plugin was poorly made. I'm sorry I said this to you, but really? You can do better then this. Please, learn how to code, and how to make a USER FRIENDLY configuration.

Posted Dec 30, 2013Hi guys, I hope this workaround helps some of you in v2.4.0:
it seems the parser does not detect all %n in the middle of text (example: 'text%ntext' does NOT work for me). Also I get [CR] at the end of line in Windows, the identical server setup under Ubuntu is fine. Maybe an issue with EOL handling, nothing I could do about this under Windows.
So far I got the plugin to display quite nicely using the following in config.yml for messages, editing config.yml rather than using ingame commands for better control:
- ? ' %n &aThis is coloured text %n &3and now in the 2nd line %n &4line 3 %n': []
Explanation: The first %n comes after one space(!!!) and cares for a new line after the prefix. %n in prefix did not work. After every %n I added one space, effectively indenting the message one character. Same in prefix: indent one character (space). I used no postfix (i.e. set to '') Before every new line using %n I inserted one space, this way the parser seems to detect it. After the %n one more space (indenting), then colour code and text. At the end of the message again one space and %n (if you use a postfix, try also space and %n%n if the postfix does not show in a new line).
To test the ingame display, use the following after editing config.yml: /am reload /am broadcast <listname> <index> example: /am broadcast newbies 0 - displays first message of the message group 'newbies'
I hope this workaround does the trick not only for me until this is fixed in code and a tutorial is available. I find this plugin very useful, keep up the good work.
