AutoMessage
What is AutoMessage?
AutoMessage is an easy to use chat scheduler plugin. It is a plugin perfect for server admins who would like to announce broadcasts at configurable intervals. The plugin features a rich in-game config editor as well as the ability to edit the config from the disk. The plugin is designed to be very lightweight and cause no impact on server resources! The plugin is updated within days of new releases to ensure complete up-to-date server compatibility! Check out the plugin review here!
Features:
- Fully configurable configuration!
- Rich in-game config editor!
- Quick and painless reloading!
- Option to randomize broadcasts!
- Color code support!!
- Run commands in your messages!
Installation:
Just drag and drop into your plugins folder then restart or reload your server! Simple!
Usage and Information:
This plugin utilises Hidendra's plugin metrics system, which means that the following information is collected and sent to mcstats.org:
- A unique identifier
- The server's version of Java
- Whether the server is in offline or online mode
- The plugin's version
- The server's version
- The OS version/name and architecture
- The core count for the CPU
- The number of players online
- The Metrics version Opting out of this service can be done by editing plugins/Plugin Metrics/config.yml and changing opt-out to true.
This plugin features an update command which will check if you are running the latest build and download the update to the plugin folder if it not currently installed. You are required to trigger the command manually and you must restart or reload the server for changes to take effect.
Thanks to my donators!

Posted Jun 28, 2013Yep.. So to be more specific:
This sentence from the documentation: "4.Reload the configuration and add the permission automessage.receive.(message-list) where (message-list) is the newly created list to the appropriate players or groups. "
Works for all groups. It works fine. But if a player is an OP and a member of a group, and that group has:
(eg., taking away the permission to receive the Noob group message(s)), the OP user still gets the message.)
If the player is not OP, and a member of any group in PEX, then the aforementioned AutoMessage config/permission node works as described.
Is there a config outside of AutoMessage controlling this? In AutoMessage?
Thanks, and hopefully this clarifies the question better.

Posted Jun 28, 2013Is there a configuration solution that forces the AutoMessage broadcast to not be broadcast to OP ?
Applicable versions for reference:
FTB/MindCrack with default mods and coremods, with: AutoMessage 2.1.2 PermissionsEX v1.19.5 Server runs: MCPC+ 1.4.7-R1.1-SNAPSHOT-f534-L67
If this is my PermissionsEX permissons.yml:
And, this is my AutoMessage config:
The problem is, a Janitor who is an OP gets the messages. Is there an override config I missed that basically forces OP's to adopt the permission node to quell broadcast to OP ?
When the Noob logs in, the OP (who is also in the Janitor PEX group) gets the Noob messages.
I want to know how to prevent this and make AutoMessage be strict about the broadcast per the permissions.

happened to me too you have to add the new line of the suffix and i just left it blank
just add the suffix line below the prefix line and put what you want or leave blank ie: Suffix: ''

Posted Jun 23, 2013I have two message lists (default and staff) that I would like to use. I would like to have regular members see the default list and the staff see the staff list, so I gave staff automessage.receive.staff and -automessage.receive.default, but they are still seeing both sets? Anything I am missing?

Posted Jun 21, 2013Just updated the plugin to v2.3.2 and it's ignoring my config.yml. Is it just a simple matter of deleting the old config and letting the plugin generate a new one?
