What is AutoMessage?
AutoMessage is an easy to use chat scheduler plugin. It is a plugin perfect for server admins who would like to announce broadcasts at configurable intervals. The plugin features a rich in-game config editor as well as the ability to edit the config from the disk. The plugin is designed to be very lightweight and cause no impact on server resources! Installation:
Just drag and drop into your plugins folder then restart or reload your server! Simple!
Usage and Information:
This plugin utilises Hidendra's plugin metrics system, which means that the following information is collected and sent to mcstats.org:
- A unique identifier
- The server's version of Java
- Whether the server is in offline or online mode
- The plugin's version
- The server's version
- The OS version/name and architecture
- The core count for the CPU
- The number of players online
- The Metrics version Opting out of this service can be done by editing plugins/Plugin Metrics/config.yml and changing opt-out to true.
This plugin features an update command which will check if you are running the latest build and download the update to the plugin folder if it not currently installed. You are required to trigger the command manually and you must restart or reload the server for changes to take effect.

Not sure then. Version 1.5 does not use ' ' in the commands and actually allows you to have multiple ' in the config or in the command.

I think you are using Version 1.4 for CB 1.2.5-R2.0. Update to version 1.5 it fixes both of those issues.

Posted Jul 20, 2012Just curious why you switched to using ' at the beginning and end of lines? It kills the ability to use contractions in the sentences: its dont wont shouldnt wouldve couldve etc etc. They look weird without the ' in them.

Posted Jul 20, 2012I have just updated this plugin from a way outdated version, My messages keep resetting when after i edit them and then type /automessage reload, it will just all reset back to the default 3 messages.

I addressed your issue already 2 times! If you would take a look at the 2 tickets you made you would have noticed that you need to surround the messages with ' ' if there is a color code at the beginning! If you are not reading your own tickets that you make yourself then I will not fix bugs. I also said that this issue is a bukkit issue and not an issue that I can address. Finally if you would have run the command /am add &2This is a test message; you would have found that it automatically encloses the message in quotes. I am not here to hold your hand and would appreciate if you could verify that this is an actual bug and not user error before making a ticket.

Posted Jul 17, 2012I realized recently that once you've modified your run.bat to make /stop be an infinite loop and restart the server, you can put the commands into automessage and it'll restart the server! It's like a completely non-laggy way to restart the server! I like it even more now, and since the 1.5 update i don't have any startup errors anymore :D Thanks Elch. If any of you people dont know the way to do infinite loop, its this: For Windows, put ":start" on the line before what you want repeated, then "goto start" on the line after what you want repeated to make an infinite loop. Also, elch, why did you turn newbeecraft premium? It was my favorite server, and since i wont have a premium account for another month, i cant play :/ now i'm forced to play on mine lol. Sorry to make this post so long ^_^ Thanks for the plugins Elch :)

This is a broadcast-plugin, In my opinion that's too far away from its purpose. If you want to schedule commands, just use another plugin for that or do it with the scheduler on your system (e.g. cronjob on linux).

I see peoples interest in this however this does seem to stray off the "messenger" path and would be more of a utility plugin. I do however like the idea and may add it however I am not promising anything.

Posted Jul 14, 2012Great Plugin, I do have a request, I see that you can run commands via the plug,(on a timed schedule) which is awesome!
I am looking to pull the txt from the McMMO leaderboard txt file in the automessage config.
I would like to have this info displayed with the other messages.
Can this be added to your plugin?
eg..

- /mctop EXCAVATION'
