ARKChests

Table of Contents

The main use of this plugin is to drop a chest with random items every hour next to a player

Now supporting WorldGuard and Factions

How to install this plugin and use it:
Drag the ARKChests.Jar into your plugin folder and reload the server

How to use the plugin:

How to start dropping chests

To start dropping chest all you have to do is run the command /ARKChests start which will drop chests every hour and the chests will despawn after 5 mins.

How to stop dropping chests

To stop the current drop and future drops run the command /ARKChests stop to stop all drops.

How to exclude worlds and players

To Exclude players from drops run the command /ARKChests exclude player add <Player Name>
To Remove players from the Exclusions run the command /ARKChests exclude player remove <Player Name>
To Exclude worlds from drops run the command /ARKChests exclude world add <World name>
To remove worlds from the Exclusions run the command /ARKChests exclude world remove <World Name>

Upcoming Additions:

Balance Drop items for all chests
Start implementation for allowing users to enter custom items

Permission Nodes:

AC.Use - Gives the user the ability to use the commands

Wow dude is this finally out? Alert me when its out for 1.8.8 because that's when i'm getting this thing! The update looks awesome dude and i hope you keep up the good work. I'm actually starting to learn abit of javascript myself but i'm basically still a beginner. Thanks so much man for developing this plugin and using your time to make something for everyone else man. Keep up the amazing work!

Suggestions for future features include:

- Custom items

- Chat Messages ie - "john found johns chest" or "john found sams chest"

- Custom particles / particle amounts

is there any possible way you can make this for 1.8.8 as well, specifically 1.8. This plugin looks incredible and would be amazing for my servers factions! thanks for spending so much time on creating this plugin! I know how hard it is to code, i have coded for some works but not for java!

The plugin idea is cool:

The description of the commands should be a bit more sotred (shorter)

here a simple idea for the current version for the descrition:

Commands:
/ARKChests start - start dropping chest every hour (despawn after 5 mins)
/ARKChests stop - stop the current drop and future drops
/ARKChests exclude player/world add <playerName>/<worldName> - exclude player/world from drops
/ARKChests exclude world/player remove <playerName>/<worldName> - remove player/worlds from Exclusions

Permissions:
AC.Use - use of all /ARKChests commands

--- Suggestions: ---
- better easier commandstruture + TabCompletation for the (new) command

- add the "Toggle feature" instead of so many command arguments..

- a language file so owners can design the plugin to their own language.

- an argument to trigger the spawning of an ARKChest (this also resets the timer if resetOnTrigger is true in config.yml

- a chest"table" where we may can have a bit more control over what spawns inside the chests.

- configurable partikeleffects on spawning of ARKChests

- configurable meassge on spawning of ARKChests

- configurable soundeffect on spawning of ARKChests

- you should not use NMS for the particls to avoid breaking of this plugin on each MC-Version change... the link for the particals is here: https://hub.spigotmc.org/javadocs/bukkit/org/bukkit/Particle.html

- an edit argument that opens a ChestGUI to edit the chest"table"

- a config.yml where following things are saved:

... - started: true/false

... - spawntime - default 3600 (secounds, if u prefer ticks it would be 72000)

... - despawntime: - default 300 (secound, if u prefer ticks it would be 6000 )

... - resetOnTrigger: true/false

... - playsounds: true/false

... sound: ENTITY_PLAYER_LEVELUP #https://hub.spigotmc.org/javadocs/bukkit/org/bukkit/Sound.html

... - useParticleEffect: true/false

... effect: WATER_BUBBLE #https://hub.spigotmc.org/javadocs/bukkit/org/bukkit/Particle.html

... - useUUID: true/false

... - excluded Player - list with UUID or playernames - depens on useUUID setting

... - excluded worlds - list with excluded worlds

... - excluded regions - list with names of excluded Protectionplugin regions

... - hookIntoProtection: true /false - allows disabling the hook if wanted

this config.yml would make the current files. Exclusions.xml, Gathering.txt, WorldExclusions.xml unnesessary. by the way..what is Gathering.txt for? What ever it is, i think there is also a place for gathering: true/false in the config.yml :)

Idea of Command structure and Toggle feature:

/ARKCESTS edit/exclude/spawn player/region/world <playerName>/<regionName><worldName>
Notes:

- just using /ARKCHESTS would toggle the start and stop - so the arguments start and stop will not be needed. (Toggle feature)

- if a player/region/world is not on the excludelist he/it will be added, if /he/it is allready in the list then he/it will be removed from the list. so arguments like add and remove will not be needed (Toggle feature)

- The argument region only works when the plugin hooked into the supported protectionplugin. If there is no hook with a protectionplugin then the result in chat simply can be something like: "Commandargument region cant be used, because there is no protectionplugin dedected"

- /ARKChests edit has no other arguments. It stops the current running if its started, opens a ChestGUI where the user can insert Drops.

one of the drops will be taken for each chest. The Edited Drop"table" max be saved in file called "drops.xml or drops.yml?". When closing the ChestGUI the insert items got automaticly saved.

the running now needs to be started aggain with /ARKChests

- the command argument /ARKChest spawn is just the triggercommand argument to "spawn" an ARKChest. it also could be trigger as commandargument but i think most people understand it better when its name is spawn. (this does not count for the config, because there the triggered event is meant)

The new commandtable would be:

Commands:

/ARKChests - toggle start stop of dropping chests every hour
/ARKChests edit - open a ChestGUI to edit drops of ARKChests
/ARKCHests spawn - Triggers spawning an ARKChest
/ARKChests exclude player <playerName> - Toggle exclude of a speciffic player from ARKChests
/ARKChests exclude world <worldName> - Toggle exclude of a speciffic world from ARKChests
/ARKChests exclude region <reginoName> - Toggle exclude of a speciffic regioin from ARKChests

Permissions:
AC.Use - use of all /ARKChests commandsTrue

Saw this new plugin and decided to use it, didnt regret it. Needs a little more work but I highly recommend it. Awesome work!
