ArcherElite
ArcherElite - Buff Damage Output from Archery:
Version: v1.2.1
Archery in the MineCraft community is often thought of as a lesser combat style to melee, and in most cases, is used as a secondary weapon. ArcheryElite, my first plugin, is aimed to change this. ArcheryElite buffs damage output from archery under specific conditions. ArcherElite gives you the ability to modify the damage output from archery in a simple to use configuration file, allowing archery to finally be balanced with melee, and be a more applicable combat style.
Features:
- All options configurable in the Configuration file. (config.yml)
- Damage Multipliers can be disabled separately from within the Configuration file. (config.yml)
- Multiplies damage output from archery by a configurable amount (by default: 1.5) when the target is over the specified distance away(by default: 25).
- Multiplies damage output from archery by a configurable amount when the shooter is wearing full leather armor. (by default: 1.5x)
- Multiplies damage output from archery by a configurable amount (by default: 2) when both the previous two instances are true.
- Tells the shooter when he has dealt a critical hit, and for what damage multiplier.
Changelog:
-Version 1.2.1 [CraftBukkit 1.2.5-R1.0]
- Fixed bug where shots at long range, without leather armor dealt no damage

I just tested it out now with both the latest recommended build of CraftByukkit (1.3.1 R2.0) and the latest version of my plugin (ArcherElite v1.2.1) and everything seems to be working perfectly.
Please try updating your Java to the latest version (Version 7 Update 6) and if that doesn't solve the problem, could you please describe it in better detail, as I am unable to recreate it and thus unable to fix it.

Posted Aug 24, 2012Could you possibly release the source for this so someone else could work on it?

This looks like a really cool plugin, if you are not going to update this, perhaps you could release the source?

The current build of this plugin is working with the latest Bukkit builds, so it is not in need of immediate updating. In regards to the things in the 'ToDo' list above, I may get to them, I may not, this plugin is not a priority of mine to be honest, and unless it needs immediate attention, I most likely will not be updating it.

Posted May 1, 2012Great mod! Archery was really underpowered and your mod fixed this wonderfully.
Is it also possible to make the critical hit message optional in the config file?

Posted Apr 12, 2012Wow, the choice of allowing leather to do even more damage was a nice twist, and goes along nicely with sunsteel. Now all the different armor sets have their own purpose!
Really looking forward to the damage increase for blocks traveled option so that hits aren't "all or nothing"

Posted Apr 3, 2012I've been looking for this for a long time, but it lacks some features I hoped for.
Please take a look at this plugin (source included) which allows you to calculate damage as a function of blocks travelled.
I wish to make it so that an extremely long shot is a one hit kill (difficult to do since arrows have travel time) and point blank shots do 0.5-1.5 hearts of damage.
Thanks!
BTW: Can you PM me if you update to include the feature I mentioned so that I can try it out asap?
