Ancient Gates
Introduction
This plugin can allow those with permission, to create gates. These gates will teleport any player, entity (incl. passenger) or vehicle (incl. passenger) that enters that gate to the designated location and/or execute a command. This is a very easy to use, easy to maintain transportation plugin! As a bonus, the gates can look any way you like (vertical or horizontal), with a selection of portal materials.
To get started, try the in game command: /gate

Posted Jul 3, 2013Hi guys,
I do apologise for the lack of responses, I've been on holiday.
@Stryker76
I shall look into this for you, it's a feature I'm going need on my own Bungee servers soon.
@bob7l
I can't remove the block physics event, it's required to prevent the portals from breaking. You're more than welcome to compile your own version from the fork you took and make your own changes.
@semirotta
Both the latest development version and the latest stable version should be fully compatible with 1.6.1, though there are a few tweaks to make tonight that will support Bungee teleportation for horses and a double check that you can pass through gates on entities.
@deaddude22
A very valid point. There have been a huge amount of performance optimisations since 1.6.2. Even more so in the latest development builds.
@Track_grease
Thanks =).

How come this generates this much lag for you? I have had no trouble at all.
Hopefully this gets updated to 1.6.1 asap!

Posted Jun 23, 2013Hey, great job on keeping up with the plugin, much appreciated, we use it extensively.
I have a Bungee setup and am currently using Transporter for cross-server teleportation, but since you have added Bungee support, I figured I'd give it a shot and get rid of Transporter.
I've been able to get it to work, which is great, however, I have a small issue.
Is there anyway you can make your Bungee support not require to have a designated "to" location on the destination server, and just have the player spawn where they last left?

Hi Connor,
I am simplifying BungeeCord support in the next release and improving the setup instructions.
Simply put, ignore socket comms to start with, enable bungeecordsupport and set "bungeeServerName" in config to match the name the bukkit server is called when using the "/server" command.
Then you create your gate per the video above, but when setting the "to" location, you go to the other server and call the "/gate setto" command with the "from" server specified at the end of the command.
Once you've got your gates working with that, them you can look at enabling socket comms :).
PM me if you get stuck and I'll go over your config files for you :).

Posted Jun 16, 2013I am having difficulty setting up the cross-server portals... I have looked at the instructions about setting up with bungeecord but I still dont understand.
I am in my Lobby server and I add my CreativeSurvival server with the correct ip and port. I go to the CreativeSurvival server and add my Lobby server with the correct ip and port. I try creating a portal pointing from my lobby to the creativesurvival but it still says the portal goes nowhere.
Also, I tried enabling the socketcomms but I am unable to get it to work.
Any sort of help or a link to a tutorial would be helpful...

Posted Jun 15, 2013It would appear that tickets are neither created nor checked for this plugin so I'll just copy my ticket to the comments.
Would it be possible to add redstone control? For example, you create a portal, then place a button on the frame. This button, when activated will open the portal for a set amount of time or until an entity goes through. Pressure plates would act like buttons and levers would toggle the portal.
New config options could be as follows: redstone-control: (true/false) button-active-time: (integer)
I'm not sure what the limitations of coding are for Minecraft, but this would be a neat feature! :D

I believe it is a Multiverse-NetherPortals issue, not an AncientGates issue. "This portal goes nowhere" is not an AncientGates message, it is a Multiverse message.
I've PM'd Waulok back =)

Posted Jun 14, 2013Howdy!
I've added about 16 gates to my server (shame gates aren't bi-directional). For some reason I can create a portal TO my creative world, but not FROM it. If I create a portal exactly the same way as for every other location but from the Creative world called 'creative' to the spawn at world 'world' it always says "This portal goes nowhere!".
I've re-created it a dozen times. Each one fails. But gates to/from every other world/location work perfectly. I have a survival world called "survival" and the gates work fine both ways there.
Any suggestions?
Thanks for an awesome plugin!

Not 100% sure. I'm thinking of giving it the option of being both random or sequenced.
