Allow Lockpicking

Introduction

This plugin adds the ability to pick doors, chests, furnaces, trapdoors, fence gates and dispensers with a "lock-pick" item. This plugin will not lock any of these items - it just provides players with a method to circumvent them.

In Game Usage

Players just need to be holding the lock-pick item in their hand and right click on a chest or a door to try to pick the lock. If the pick is successful, the door or chest will open.

Features

Should work with any locking plugin (tested with LWC, Lockette, BukkitInventoryTools, Deadbolt)
Supports permissions (allowlockpicking.canpick) - defaults to ops
Configurable lock-pick item (allows multiple lock-picks)
Configurable messages
Configurable chance of success
Option to lose lock-pick on use or just failure
Configurable damage dealt on failure
Teleport player to a location on failure (like Jail)
Run a command automatically on failure (like /report)

Known Bugs

Does not prevent other locking plugins from displaying their messages if something is supposed to be locked but the user bypasses it.

Installation

Download the jar and place the plugin into your folder. Run the server to generate the files that will let you configure the plugin.

I'm currently in the process of rewriting the plugin to fix a few other errors, I'll add in the durability feature and look at leveling - thanks for the suggestion!

It would be nice if there were an option to damage the item on failure, too. I like to use hoes for lockpicking, can would be nice if lockpicks could "wear out".

edit: Think Morrowind lockpicking.

Also, this would be amazing if there were a level feature (mcmmo compatible? :D) associated with it. Just throwing it out there. ;)

Noticed there is a soft depend on ChestShop, but found no commands to disable lock picking of chest shops.

the protect command does not work - posted a ticket.

still having problems here. I checked the config and saw that the success rate was at 0 so I changed that and thought for sure that that would fix it, but sadly no. I'll keep looking at the config, I appreciate your help,thanks.

I just tested it and it seems to work fine. For your configs make sure that the name of your world is listed in the world list section of the config. I noticed that your config shadowwraths is the world "public", which threw me off for a little since mine is called "world".

Let me know if this doesn't solve it or you still have issues, I'll upload a debug version.

I'm actually having the same problem right now, actually it's not picking up the plugin what so ever actually.

I'll test it with Lockette right now, I assume you're using the most recent versions. Could you create a ticket and post your lockpicking config please?

Also do you have the spout server plugin? Is the player using the spout client?

To give you a little more info on the problem. The player gets hurt sometimes when they try to open chests, and they lose a lockpick every few times they try but the chest never opens.

Be awesome if you could add a message on fail for factions.

Eg. A player fails to pick the lock of Faction B.. The server then broadcasts "John attempted to pick Faction B's locks"

for some reason i just cant pick teh locks. i have lwc (newest version) and this plugin (newest version). and all the permissions set up but just nothing happens when i right click with an arrow (item i set 262)
