Description
This plugin is intended to efficiently provide a border for each of your worlds, which only people granted special bypass access are allowed beyond. These borders can be round/elliptic or square/rectangular. As the plugin has been written with performance as the most important goal, it should have no performance impact on your server. Additional world trimming and filling commands are available as well.
Older plugins which originally inspired the creation of this one: rBorder and BorderGuard.
Features
- You can set up a separate border for each world, but only one border per world.
- You can have either round/elliptic or square/rectangular borders. Square/rectangular borders are slightly higher performance, round/elliptic borders make for nicer display maps. Different worlds can have different border shapes if you so choose.
- Configuration and border setup is done completely using commands in-game or through the server console. No need to ever edit the config file directly.
- Support for all permission plugins which interface with Bukkit's built-in "superperms" permission system.
- You can fully generate (fill) your world all the way to the border, filling in any missing chunks, including a configurable buffer zone just outside your border.
- You can trim off any world chunks beyond the border, getting rid of extraneous parts, with a configurable buffer zone left just outside your border.
- You can use a bypass command to allow specific players to go beyond all borders.
- Borders can be automatically displayed in DynMap if you use that plugin.
- All plugin data is automatically saved whenever any borders or settings are changed.
- If a player crosses a border while in a vehicle, the momentum of the vehicle is stopped and it is moved back inside the border with the player.
- When a player is moved back inside a border, they will be moved to a safe vertical location if needed.
- Borders for specific worlds can be set to wrap around instead of just knocking back players who cross the border, instead sending them to the opposite edge of the border.

Of special interest are the Fill command and the Trim command features:

Borders are also displayed automatically by default in DynMap if you have it:

Just had time to get back to you on the glitch. So just a quick command to disable/enable the functionality of doing so seems more suitable then allowing others to choose more freely I agree. Any ETA on this?

That's a lot of plugins and mods running on Spigot. I can't really venture a guess as to which might be causing a problem just from looking at the startup log though, nothing in particular catches my eye from scanning down it. How much memory are you allocating to the server for all that?
You might try temporarily removing batches of plugins and mods to see if you can pinpoint down to one causing trouble.
EDIT: actually, you might first try to take care of that "permgen" Spigot issue mentioned at the bottom of that log. That might have something to do with it.

It sounds like something on your server is repeatedly killing the timed task which WorldBorder runs in a separate thread to monitor for people crossing borders.
Please post your full server startup log.
@sigge300
If the world generator is an actual Bukkit plugin rather than a separate mod, yes, it will work.

If the entire region is outside the border (and the specified padding range beyond the border), yes.

Seems sensible.
Another dev already submitted a pull request for an option that completely denies ender pearl usage. I think I'll co-opt that existing code to change it so that it only denies ender pearls which are thrown past a border, and add a command to actually enable/disable it without needing to directly edit the config file.

When using an enderpearl and throwing it outside the border to a location to their left (where a base is or anything else) worldborder will detect that the players last location outside of the border was there so it will tp backwards to the most safest block which would be into the base and so players can glitch into other players bases like this.
My solution: disable the enderpearl teleport event when throw beyond worldborder.

Any plugin like that should work fine; WorldBorder will redirect the teleport target location to be the nearest spot inside the border.

The exact opposite edge of the border.
If it's a square/rectangular border, it will just wrap around in the direction you crossed. So if you're at 500 Z, heading through a border going along the X axis, you will be at 500 Z on the other side once you cross it.
If it's round/elliptic, the exact opposite point on the border will be used.

Thank you, I understand that. But that means East to West, West to East as well as South to North and North to South doesn't it? Is it at all possible to have your character cross off of the North-West border of the world and appear facing South on the North-East side? As if you are crossing the pole from Alaska to Russia. Since you can't cross the pole at Alaska and come up in Argentina.
If the plugin does contain this option, I'm sorry for the confusion. If it doesn't, is that something beyond the possibilities of future inclusion?

No worries.
@Engellus
The /wb wrap command will set a specific world to have the border teleport the player from one edge to the opposite edge when a person crosses it, rather than the default of just knocking them back. See the Command list linked above for more info.

Posted Feb 13, 2014This plugin looks amazing and like something that I will probably end up using. However, back in 2011 there was a plugin called Round World v6 released by Raphfrk. He described it as "This plugin creates a virtual round world. If a player moves off the E/W edge, it is teleported to the other side of the map.
If the player walks off the N edge, the player will be teleported so that they are facing S and at the opposite side of the N edge (and similar for the S edge)."
Unfortunately he stopped updating it and its obviously no longer supported. I am curious if there is a potential for you with your plugin to add the North to South interactions as he had. That is to say that you would go off the NW edge and appear on the NE, just flipped across the meridian to the mirror position. If this was included it could allow for a more global feel for the plugin. Is this at all possible?
