Nether brick and a pumpkin just isn't "angelish". I would use end stone instead of bricks and iron door halfs as wings. consider replacing the pumpkin with a skeleton, with physics frozen and submerged in the end stone so that only the head is visible. You could also make them put out torches, fire, furnaces and redstone, as long as they are within a radius of, let's say, 15 blocks.
I don't think that I would use a skeleton for the head because for one it would cause a lot more lag because I would have to be constantly stopping it from falling through the block and it would also probably not turn correctly with the angel and a few other things that would just make it look bad. And I'm not really a big fan of the endstone or Iron doors but I was thinking about making the angels customizable. I think I might get them to put out torches and fire but probably not furnaces because that could end badly but maybe redstone.
Well, if you make it customizable, make sure you can define a damage value to the blocks based upon the rotation of the angel. In the next update there will be placeable mob heads, including skeletons.
