Downloads
I'm too lazy to upload TARDIS files to Bukkit anymore, as builds are automatically created when the plugin is updated and changes pushed to GitHub.
Version specific downloads can be found here: https://tardis.pages.dev/download
Please make sure you are using the latest Spigot/Paper builds (for the Minecraft version you are running) before installing TARDIS or creating an issue!
What it does
TARDIS is a plugin that gives you the ability to create a Police Box that lets you time travel (teleport) to random locations. It adds a Whovian twist to the typical /sethome and /home commands.
As a player, you can:
- Create a TARDIS that is bigger on the inside.
- Time travel to a random location.
- Time travel back home (where you created the TARDIS initially).
- Save and list interesting time travel locations, so you can return to them easily.
- Take companions with you when you time travel.
- Make your TARDIS blend in with the Chameleon Circuit.
- Use your own schematic to build the TARDIS interior
- Grow new TARDIS rooms
- Use Artron Energy
- Remote control the TARDIS
- Custom TARDIS sounds with companion Resource Pack
- Custom TARDIS textures with companion Resource Pack

Installation
As a minimum, just drop the TARDIS.jar, TARDISChunkGenerator.jar (look under Additional Files on the download page) and any optional plugins listed below into the Bukkit plugins folder and start your server. For more detailed instructions see: https://tardis.pages.dev/installation-v5
Optional installs
These are not needed for TARDIS to function, but enhance the plugin with extra features...
- Install the TARDIS-SoundResourcePack in the Minecraft client to hear custom TARDIS sounds
- Install the TARDIS-Resource-Pack to see aal the fancy textures and models (requires TARDIS v4.2 or higher).
- Install the TARDISChunkGenerator plugin so that you can generate TARDISes in their own self-contained world (included on the TARDIS plugin download page under Additional files).
- Install WorldGuard to automatically protect your TARDIS from griefing, and stop mobs spawning in TARDIS worlds.
- Install TARDISWeepingAngels to add some Whovian mobs to the game.
- Install a Permissions plugin, so that you can restrict or grant players the rights to use TARDIS’ different features. We like PermissionsBukkit.

Bugs / Requests
Please post a ticket for TARDIS plugin requests and bugs, thank you :)
WARNING: I am no longer prepared to waste my time looking at incomplete tickets. If your ticket does not follow the guidelines set out below, it will be deleted immediately!
Make sure you have read the FAQs first, as your question may already be answered there. Also make sure you have searched for a previous ticket with the same/similar issue (use the Filters to search closed tickets).
If you are going to create a BUG ticket you need to supply relevant information (as I'm not a mind reader, nor do I have access to your server...) - as a minimum you need:
- Exact CraftBukkit version i.e. NOT 'the latest' - use the
/tardis versioncommand if possible, otherwise copy from server log - Exact TARDIS version i.e. NOT 'the latest' - use the
/tardis versioncommand if possible, otherwise copy from server log - The server log showing the entire error (as a paste or at Pastebin - NOT a screenshot) - this should be the log from when the server starts up right through to when the error occurs
- If no error in the log, then a video of the bug happening or the EXACT steps needed to reproduce the issue.
- Attach your plugins/TARDIS/config.yml file or other configuration file if relevant
- Attach your plugins/TARDIS/TARDIS.db file if relevant
- List of other plugins on server
Stats
Basic statistics are collected for some versions of the TARDIS plugin (v2.5.8 and earlier). You can opt out at any time by setting opt-out: true in plugins/PluginMetrics/config.yml
External web access
Version 2.8 (and higher) of this plugin includes a translation feature (the /tardissay command) that connects to the Lingva translation service.
You can prevent players from using the command by removing / not giving them the permission tardis.translate

Default spawn point is set automatically, and should be correct so long as the interior TARDIS door is facing the right way (point number 5 under Guidelines for custom TARDIS schematics).
I don't know what you mean by 'should this method also be used for rooms' - you don't need to set a spawn point for rooms as you don't teleport into them...
I don't have time to check in detail every console that a user submits, I provide a repository only so that people can share their ideas. It's up to a server operator to make sure the custom schematic works, and I've provided instructions on how to do so...

Yes, I was on the right page, then.
I guess I assumed there was a generally understood "quality control" when making custom consoles. I'll try to explain the problem again:
After I enter the TARDIS for the first time using the custom schematic, it doesn't spawn me in the TARDIS itself, but instead outside where I'm falling. How do I set it to default the spawn place for when others make a custom TARDIS? It seems unreasonable to have to manually do it each time.
Final question that should put this in the best perspective: When creating a custom console, what method should I use to ensure the player spawns inside the TARDIS on custom schematics? (and should this method also be used for rooms?)
(Last edit: does the placeholder objects have to do with the spawn point?

That's a very confusing post... are you trying to define a custom console or a custom room?
Also just because the schematics are available on the use submission site, it does not guarantee that they are compatible with the plugin...
Custom console doc: http://eccentricdevotion.github.io/TARDIS/schematics.html
Custom room doc: http://eccentricdevotion.github.io/TARDIS/custom-rooms.html
Both linked from the official docs contents page...

Posted Dec 24, 2013Alright bud, I had somehow completely messed up this plugin. Not a big loss as my server is empty and still in testing stages.
I now have the "custom" tardis room working. But...
I have a problem: I'm using the one on the user submitted page called "2005_TARDIS" and got it to create and loaded up fine. However when I enter the door to go in the TARDIS it spawns me properly but not on the inside of the schematic. When I enter, I'm OUTSIDE the schematic that is the new, custom TARDIS room: it loads the custom schematic fine, but spawns me away from it. When I load the schematic by itself (schematic load custom) from the worldedit folder, it has me waaaay above it when I paste. Does the copy command also set the place the user will spawn? If so I need to load this up and manually do it.
I can't seem to find anything specific to creating custom TARDIS consoles. I swore I saw something about it before, but all I can find now is the "custom room" yet that seems to be more about rooms and less about custom consoles.

ARS has both gravity and anti-gravity wells...

ARS, doesn't have an entry for the gravity wells as far as I can tell. Also, when I try and build it on the other side of the pad it says I can't manually grow a room there.

The seed block positions have changed... Check the v2.6-beta-1 changelog - you don't put the seed in the middle of the floor anymore and you don't need to grow an empty room firsts. I see in your picture that you have the seed block on the wrong side of the pressure plate - you are trying to grow the room into the console not on the outside...
Why does no one use ARS? It's so much easier...
@GervaisJohn
To check if the schematic is valid, you can load it and paste it using WorldEdit.
@xViperLink
You don't have to anything special to hear the sounds, as long as the resource pack is there. Will only work with CraftBukkit 1.7.x and Minecraft 1.7.4 however...
@sbongbob
I cannot reproduce not being able to craft any TARDIS items... What is difficulty set to in the config?

You need the TARDIS Resource Pack - it contains the TARDIS sounds
Get the latest pack, needed for all sonic screwdriver sounds from the TARDIS GitHub repo https://github.com/eccentricdevotion/TARDIS/blob/2.7/TARDIS-ResourcePack-0.10.zip?raw=true

Posted Dec 23, 2013Hello! So I Just downloaded the latest build from github (2.7). And apparently, all the sfx are gone. The plugin works perfectly fine, but the sounds are gone, which I miss. Is this normal or did something go wrong?

There is most probably an error in the server log, paste it.

Okay I went through as you said and it's KIND OF working. Meaning I can get it all going, but when I set the seed down to make the TARDIS it gives the text output like normal (about importing world etc) but the Obsidian block stays a block. it doesn't turn into a usable TARDIS at all. Then when I try to remove it, I am told I haven't created a TARDIS yet. What am I missing?
Edit: in the file folder I can see it did, in fact, create tardis_world_roracle but won't even let me /mv tp to it.
