Downloads
I'm too lazy to upload TARDIS files to Bukkit anymore, as builds are automatically created when the plugin is updated and changes pushed to GitHub.
Version specific downloads can be found here: https://tardis.pages.dev/download
Please make sure you are using the latest Spigot/Paper builds (for the Minecraft version you are running) before installing TARDIS or creating an issue!
What it does
TARDIS is a plugin that gives you the ability to create a Police Box that lets you time travel (teleport) to random locations. It adds a Whovian twist to the typical /sethome and /home commands.
As a player, you can:
- Create a TARDIS that is bigger on the inside.
- Time travel to a random location.
- Time travel back home (where you created the TARDIS initially).
- Save and list interesting time travel locations, so you can return to them easily.
- Take companions with you when you time travel.
- Make your TARDIS blend in with the Chameleon Circuit.
- Use your own schematic to build the TARDIS interior
- Grow new TARDIS rooms
- Use Artron Energy
- Remote control the TARDIS
- Custom TARDIS sounds with companion Resource Pack
- Custom TARDIS textures with companion Resource Pack

Installation
As a minimum, just drop the TARDIS.jar, TARDISChunkGenerator.jar (look under Additional Files on the download page) and any optional plugins listed below into the Bukkit plugins folder and start your server. For more detailed instructions see: https://tardis.pages.dev/installation-v5
Optional installs
These are not needed for TARDIS to function, but enhance the plugin with extra features...
- Install the TARDIS-SoundResourcePack in the Minecraft client to hear custom TARDIS sounds
- Install the TARDIS-Resource-Pack to see aal the fancy textures and models (requires TARDIS v4.2 or higher).
- Install the TARDISChunkGenerator plugin so that you can generate TARDISes in their own self-contained world (included on the TARDIS plugin download page under Additional files).
- Install WorldGuard to automatically protect your TARDIS from griefing, and stop mobs spawning in TARDIS worlds.
- Install TARDISWeepingAngels to add some Whovian mobs to the game.
- Install a Permissions plugin, so that you can restrict or grant players the rights to use TARDIS’ different features. We like PermissionsBukkit.

Bugs / Requests
Please post a ticket for TARDIS plugin requests and bugs, thank you :)
WARNING: I am no longer prepared to waste my time looking at incomplete tickets. If your ticket does not follow the guidelines set out below, it will be deleted immediately!
Make sure you have read the FAQs first, as your question may already be answered there. Also make sure you have searched for a previous ticket with the same/similar issue (use the Filters to search closed tickets).
If you are going to create a BUG ticket you need to supply relevant information (as I'm not a mind reader, nor do I have access to your server...) - as a minimum you need:
- Exact CraftBukkit version i.e. NOT 'the latest' - use the
/tardis versioncommand if possible, otherwise copy from server log - Exact TARDIS version i.e. NOT 'the latest' - use the
/tardis versioncommand if possible, otherwise copy from server log - The server log showing the entire error (as a paste or at Pastebin - NOT a screenshot) - this should be the log from when the server starts up right through to when the error occurs
- If no error in the log, then a video of the bug happening or the EXACT steps needed to reproduce the issue.
- Attach your plugins/TARDIS/config.yml file or other configuration file if relevant
- Attach your plugins/TARDIS/TARDIS.db file if relevant
- List of other plugins on server
Stats
Basic statistics are collected for some versions of the TARDIS plugin (v2.5.8 and earlier). You can opt out at any time by setting opt-out: true in plugins/PluginMetrics/config.yml
External web access
Version 2.8 (and higher) of this plugin includes a translation feature (the /tardissay command) that connects to the Lingva translation service.
You can prevent players from using the command by removing / not giving them the permission tardis.translate

Alright. I'm planning on making a public server, so I guess I'll go with 5gigs and see how well it works out. I can add more if needed. As for my client, I use a pro-gaming computer at 100+ fps with 25 ping and 67 mbps download speed internet. I'm fine :P

I haven't noticed the TARDIS plugin using significantly more server RAM than other feature-rich plugins. Multiverse is, by far, the biggest drain on server memory for me; I have 19 worlds. I used to be able to run my server, including the TARDIS plugin, with 1GB of memory allotted to Minecraft. I had to double it at some point when I kept adding more worlds because the server refused to start up. It runs fine now on 2GB, but I'd like to feed it an additional gig at some point to have extra room for growth.
The newer versions of Minecraft seem to be a bit less efficient to me though, both client-side and server-side. This is entirely subjective, but it may be partially to blame for the lag you're experiencing. A private friends-only type of server should be completely fine with only 1-2GB of memory allotted to Minecraft. A large public server will need a bit more than that.
What's more important, though, is to make sure that your client has enough memory. I used to be able to run Minecraft just fine on a computer with 4GB of memory. Lately, it's been using up so much memory and has been so horribly inefficient about it that I had to upgrade to 8GB and change my Minecraft startup parameters to feed it more memory on startup. It's a hungry, hungry hippo...

It's unlikely to be a one time only thing... especially as the 1.7 update for FTB will only be for 1.7.2 not 1.7.9 (and 1.8 is soon to arrive), and of course the inevitable bug fixing. I see no point in using an old version (I no longer have the code anyway) so may as well retro fit the 2.9 version. You're looking at changing about 50 files (for starters then any run on effect from there) so it is no small task... If you are happy using an outdated Minecraft version, then you'll need to be happy using an outdated TARDIS version too.

Posted May 26, 2014Sadly I have no idea where to start at all I have no background in java. Also the source is for 2.9 and I am not sure I have the skills to make it compatible. I really dont want to wait but it looks like I have to.
EDIT: It would also just be a 1 time downgrade. I understand that you are busy but nobody knows your mod like you do :D

I understand, but in past experiences with the TARDIS plugin, I've seen that it causes much more lag than most plugins do due to its large amount of features. So I figured that there would be some way for me to accommodate.

According to the Bukkit wiki, a CraftBukkit server should have 1GB of RAM per 20 player slots
@Lilgamer1444
It's there in the ARS GUI, you might need to scroll all the way to the end, and then back again, I'll check what's up with that tonight...
@micmou
I don't really have time to maintain two versions of the plugin, you'll either have to wait until July, or edit the code yourself, source code is linked above...

Posted May 26, 2014Quick question: For a public server running only TARDIS and its peripheral plugins, what is the recommended amount of RAM for a relatively lag-free play environment?

Posted May 26, 2014Hello My name is micmou I Am a server admin on a FTB monster server which is minecraft 1.6.4 I enjoy your plugin but the latest version I can get is 2.6 Beta 3. I came here to ask you if there was anyway you could backport one of the later version I would think from my understanding that 2.8 beta 2 would be the farthest forward before the UUID stuff happens. A lot of the members on my server really enjoy your plugin as it is but we would like to be able to use the new features sadly the earliest a monster FTB 1.7 pack would be out is july. It would also let tekkit users and other modpack users the ability to use your awesome plugin to most of its fullest I hope that you take my words into consideration thank you for your time.
EDIT: I realize that not all features might be able to go backwards the ones like LibDisguise I am not sure If most features could be backproted that would be a great deal of service to us that are limited by modpack authors.

Posted May 24, 2014Is there currently a method to where a admin can set where TARDIS's can be created at.
For example, On my server we have a world called Gallifrey. On it is kind of a TARDIS hangar for creating and storing TARDIS's. It has re-chargers and everything a TARDIS would need to have to get ready to time travel when its Time Lord returns. I would much rather that this be the only place that TARDIS's can be grown.

It seemed to just be a glitch because now they are entering freely if the door is open. I forget which .dat files are the sonic screwdriver files and what folder to move them to.

Posted May 23, 2014I have a user that had their TARDIS before the new MCP texture pack release. I have helped them install the needed resource pack and sound pack. All is well except 2 things.
1.) There is now white square (instruction panel) on the outside of his tardis the left. He shorted out the chameleon to the blue wool, So his TARDIS is the necessary blue.
2.) his inside door will not update to the new pack. it still has the original blue wool look and the regular iron door. I tried the update hinge command and it only switched the doors hinge, not its texture.
I have tried both on my PC and his so I know its now a resource pack install error.
Is there a trick to get these two texture areas to play ball?
