I have used some of your open source code to enhance my own plugin(s) that I have been developing for myself on ym own server. I recently thought I would upload it to the bukkit website.

In your license you state that "You can look at the source, you can redistribute, copy the code, but you can not modify without permission." I have copied some of the code and conformed it to the needs of my plugin, Server Teleportation (or ServerTP for short).

Here is some of the things I have done:

    - I have used some of the code for setting the hub but changed the command from "simplyhub sethub" to just "sethub" and "simplyhub hub" to just "hub"
    - I have also created a version of what I did previously only I just used the backbone of the code (ie writing to the config and retrieving from the config) and I created the commands "setshop" and "shop", both which, respectively, set the shop and teleport you to it.

I am planning/hoping to possibly incorporate the code for the compass navigation portion of the plugin into mine at some point in the future but little to no alteration is likely in that case.

As stated in the license, I need the go ahead for any alterations and I have added things and changed the commands, which I think qualify as alterations. Could I please have permission to publish my plugin?

    Looking forward to your reply

And if permission is granted, is there any special license I need to classify my plugin under ?

I do not know where he has gone, I am relatively new to the community. Do you know his email or something like that?

darn. Any idea why he hasn't been on? Was the project kind of "abandoned"?

    Also,

Do you wish to see my code containing the mentioned altered code? Would that help possibly and/or a working plugin (of course with you agreeing not to distribute it etc)?

All I really did was change the commands and copy the "simply sethub" command but create a new area in the config and point it to that. Putting further thought into it, it is that much of an alteration. I just want to be on the safe side and inform you guys etc. as well as obviously request permission due to the way your license is worded.

Do you think it would be ok if I were to give you a credit section in the plugin description like sgavster did for codename_B's firework util ?

EDIT: I released an earlier test build of the plugin predating when I integrated some of the code from your plugin, Simply Hub. It is currently awaiting approval from the bukkit staff.

I hear ya. And ok. If the project has indeed become inactive do you think the license would still stand? And do I have your tentative go ahead?
