Description
Ever wanted to move a mob spawner? With SilkSpawners, you can now pick up and move monster spawners.
If you use a pickaxe with the silktouch enchantment you will receive the spawner again.
You can control each mob spawner, allow crafting and of course mod support.
I'm happy to hear about your opinion, just leave a comment with a feature request, bug, improvement or just a personal opinion.

Commands
Only the bukkit permissions are supported!
I highly recommend that you use a plugin for permissions like bPermissions
If no permission system is found, all commands are for OPs only!
If you suffix a mob name with egg you will receive an egg instead.

/ss help - Displays the help menu.
/ss list|all - Displays all available creatures.
/ss view - Displays information about the viewed spawner.
/ss reload|rl - Reloads the configuration files.
/ss change|set <newMob> - Changes the spawner you are currently holding or viewing at.
/ss give|add <player> <mob> [amount] - Gives a spawner or egg to the player. Amount is optional.
/ss selfget|i <mob> [amount] - Gives a spawner or egg to you. Amount is optional.

Known Bugs
- If sign shops are not working, you may want to try my custom sign shop addon: https://www.spigotmc.org/resources/12028/
- Mobs like Ghasts or Giants are too big for the spawner, this a Minecraft bug and I can't fix that
- Some older Essentials versions/ports are not updated properly for 1.8. There is a maintained fork called EssentialsX you should try.
- If you use Gui Sign Shop and users are unable to place spawners, you need to grant them the guishop.spawner permission from Gui Sign Shop
- Holographic Displays makes Slime spawners non functional
- UltraCosmetics, causes some spawners to non function: https://github.com/iSach/UltraCosmetics/issues/259

Disabling bStats
The file ./plugins/bStats/config.yml contains an option to opt-out.
The following data is read and sent to https://bstats.org and can be seen under https://bstats.org/plugin/bukkit/SilkSpawners

Posted Apr 13, 2016Hello! Players on my server has started to encounter a strange bug with SilkSpawners, this is a quote from one of them:
"When placing a spawner cage, in this case a zombie spawner cage the mobs that spawn are differant than mobs that spawn elsewhere in the game.
I use a water elevator system to raise my mobs 22 lvls so that they have only 1 to 1.5 hearts left when I harvest for drops and XP.
The problem is that SS-spawned zombies will not swim up and would rather stand with thier heads in water until they die. I created an outdoor through to verify that game spawned zombies act as expected.
The non-Silk Spawner created mobs work as expected.
The Silk Spawner works fine on "Test" server NOTE: SilkSpawners v3.7.1
It is possible some other config or setting may be preventing the zombies from swimming up?" - MoCaveman 2016-04-13 on Toasty Domain forums.
We are using the latest version of Spigot 1.9.2 and the latest version of SilkSpawners. We are also using the latest version of EssentialsX, and we have not messed around too much in the configs. I've done my best to find the reason for this, but haven't found any. Thanks for your time. Henriko

When someone on my server silk touches a spawner, for example: skeleton, and they keep it in their inventory and log offline, when they come back online and try to place said spawner, it says: Placing default spawner (either this spawner is invalid or disabled)
...and then turns it into a default spawner aka pig.
Running most recent silkspawners, and most recent EssentialsX jenkins build. 1.9.2 spigot.

That simultaneous joy and facepalm feeling. Thanks for the SpawnPotential heads up! Using MagicSpells external command spell to run
'give %a mob_spawner 1 61 {BlockEntityTag:{SpawnPotentials:[{Entity:{id:"Blaze"}}],Delay:-1s,SpawnCount:5,SpawnRange:4,RequiredPlayerRange:16,MinSpawnDelay:15,MaxSpawnDelay:30,MaxNearbyEntities:15,EntityId:"Blaze",Silent:1}}'
Finally.. works.
The detection ranges, spawn counts, delays and max count all work also. I didnt bother with mob attributes or custom drops but will :D Soon as update the loads of spawners. The Delay:-1s thing seems to effect if pig will spawn first or not? The EntityId:"Blaze" seems to tell SilkSpawners what spawner type it is on mouseover and place, it was the other thing that was breaking custom spawners.
Most excellent. If the sweetie noobcake breaks the custom spawner they still can mine the relevant standard type back up which is cool and thanks to you. MagicSpells will run massive commands like summon custom villager with tons of custom item trades 15k char command NP. Ty for suggesting the other plugin for the /give command but Nah! :D
With regards to getting SilkSpawners to handle custom stats spawners and record them so keep the stats when mine them? I see a plugin called PreciousStones is able to retain meta info of placed blocks that are mined back up? (name & lore anyway) It may just be canceling the blockbreak event and summon a loot item replacenemt with all the stats on it already? http://preciousstones.shoutwiki.com/wiki/Field_Flag_Reference#meta-name

Finally someone, who uses the other NBT values of spawners :)
I'm still thinking about how I'd could add support for these attributes in SS.
Regarding your issue: I've stumbled across the same issue in the 1.9 upgrade. The EntityId and SpawnData were overwritten somehow. Could you try a plugin like PowerNBT and see if the given spawner via your /give command has a SpawnPotential tag?
If yes, this is the root of all evil. 1.9 (servers) somehow append a SpawnPotential with pig data, this get's active after the first spawn and overwrites the other data.

Hi there. Since 1.9 upgrade we cannot get any type of syntaxt to work for custom spawners as described in bold in "features" of the plugin while SS is installed. We have enjoyed SilkSpawners on various servers since way back to 1.7.6 Bukkit glory days perhaps. It's cool plugin. Thank you much! The new bossbar thing is pretty cool, good job.
There is a pressing issue .. bacon.. mmmm too much of it?! Previously in 1.8 the custom spawners woked fine. After translating the old commands to the 1.9 new ones with the below advice we find SilkSpawners does not support this any more. We used to use essentials give command such as below which is run by MagicSpells in menus and SS never attempted to nerf or overwrite the spawners when placed. Now it kills them whatever syntax we use. :/ Pig. At first it placed normal then turned to pig then back to the normal mob type then after the first mob spawned it reverted to pig. Tried changing use meta: true etc it makes no difference. Use default spawner true/false.. uses default spawner regardless.

How do we prevent SS overriding the spawners it deems broken without removing the SS plugin? The spawners are not broken.. they are just way more optimised, fun, safe or advanced than the ones SS gives.
What's the correct syntax for /ss give player mobtype amount {many cool options like max spawn range etc.} or does SS no longer support such things in 1.9+ ?
Essentials is blind to mob ids in spawners / eggs now. 383:0 and 52:0 regardless of what you /itemdb This was a major pain but we fixed that now just need the spawners to work. We have about 50 custom spawners! All of them spawn 1 custom mob and then revert to pig or break on place.
We do not allow pigs to spawn on the server. Is the only blocked mob/creature ... lol
/ss give playername mobtype amount works fine. ChestShop is buying and selling the ss spawners NP We just need the custom spawners!.

Hello, I have spawners in my keycrates (on my server). After 1.9.. sometimes the spawners becomes pig.
Will this ever be fixed? Im not using the /ss give command. I know that. But before 1.9 . I could use the spawners from the crates. Without the spawners getting glitched.
Im on Spigot 1.9.2 .

Be more specific, how do you obtain spawners? What version of SilkSpawners are you using? What's your CraftBukkit/Spigot version? And last but not least, open a ticket, if you have a valid bug report. Hint: Do not use Essentials /give. Use /ss give instead.
