ServerRestorer

A bukkit plugin for backing up your server.

Features:

Backs-up the full server directory, including plugins, worlds, and config/property files.
Compresses backups. Can reduces the files down to 1/4th the size.
Includes automatic scheduled backups. Delay between backups is configurable.
Anti-Lag: Your server will not freeze when backups occur.
Fast backups: Saving servers can take less than a minute.
Small plugin size.
Supports FTP: Upload your backups to your home computer
Backup limits: If you're limited on space, you can configure limits to the amount of backups that are stored.
Will be continuously updated.

Compression:

Using compression techniques, we can decrease the backup size by up to 300%. When tested, this plugin can reduce a 2.82GB server down to just 0.98GB.

Removes useless files:

ServerRestorer has built in filters to make sure you are not saving useless files. Files such as logs files, which can be GBs in size full of console spam, and server.jar files, which cannot change, are not included in backups. Doing this can reduce the back file size by GBs. If you wish to store these files in the backups for some reason, you can always enable serverjar backups in the config.

FTP:

ServerRestorer supports FTP! You can now transfer backups directly from the server to your home computer or to another server.

Commands:

/sr save - Forces the save
/sr reload - Restores the server back to a previous backup
/sr enableAutoSaver [delay] - Changes the auto saver delay
/sr disableAutoSaver - Disables the autosaver.

Permissions:

"serverrestorer.*" - Contains all the permissions below
"serverrestorer.save" - Allows the user to access /sr commands.

This plugin collects stats using bStats:

Bestats only collects information regarding your system architecture, the server version, and plugin version. If you really do not want any of this information being sent, you can disable bstats by going into the config and setting: "enableStats" to false.

Hey, a question:

What does the plugin backup, exactly? So, when I have a backup, what do I delete to make space for the "duplicate" of those files?

Update: I unzipped it for myself...and it looks like it backs up everything. Ok everyone looking at this post, USE THIS PLUGIN!!!!!!!

Seems the dependency was not exported with the last update for some reason. This has been fixed in 1.0.8

After your server has been backed up, go into the /<server>/backups/ directory (or whichever backup directory you set in the config) and find the newest backup/ backup to the version you want. Open the file with 7Zip or winRar and extract all of the files into the main directory. Override everything.

This is coming, though will take some time. The SpongeAPI is very different to Bukkit, and I need to basically re-learn how to make plugins in order to support it.

Great plugin. Only thing is(not the plugin's fault) that my server takes like 20 mins to reload... Image what it will be when I restart it with 6 backups! So imma take a backup every once in a while and put it on my laptop because my laptop takes very little time to restart with 1TB of storage. Again that isn't the plugin's fault. My server hosting wants $5 for 13gb... I can use like 500GB for free!!!

Does it have Automatic update when you are playing on ur server?

And can I translate it into Vietnamese and move to the Vietnamese forum?

Due to the fact that the plugin cannot unload itself, automatic updates are only applied on server restart/reload.

Sure. I will include a messages.yml file sometime soon so you can translate all of the text.

Hey, sorry if I'm pants on head retarded, but where is this putting the backup/save files of the world? I can't find it anywhere. Also not sure what the unit for /sr enableautosaver [unit?] is.

Seems like a cool tool if I could figure it out. Thanks for any help!!

By default, all backups should be saved to the "/<server>/backups/" directory.

The units used should be displayed when you issue "/sr enableAutoSaver" (no second argument). The units should be displayed as Numbers+TimeStamp (e.g. "1D" or "24H") The default should be every twenty days (20D)
