Residence


About
Residence is different from most protection plugins in that it aims for the users to be able to protect their own homes without having to bother the admin to do it. Residence has support for a variety of different protection types including preventing movement through areas, all of which can be configured by the land owner, and limited by the admin.

trample is a residence only flag that only prevents people from killing crops by walking on them. Also it would be "/res pset NAME trample false" if it were a player flag, but its not so only "/res set trample false" will work

Make sure the flag you are trying to change is listed as Flag: true in the config for toggleability

Can I see the whole config, get a list of the names of your groups and which ones you want to have create permissions, and uhh the startup log of residence when you start the server. Oh and what permissions plugin are you using?

Residence 3.0 will not be finished before 1.3, the 2.x series will be continued until residence 3.0 is ready to take its place though.

Posted Jul 10, 2012Hello smbarbour, for the last few months i had been playing a minecraft server that you may have heard off. Boomer Sooner Land Run. The admin contacted a Res developer about some bugs and they quickly fixed and released a snapshot. Since then, that server has been shutdown and a new one very similar has opened with the same players and Res. The plugin is amazing and just the right thing needed. The new server is now also being shut down and a new one is opening again. The new one shall be opening around 1.3 release time. The server is planned to use Residence again, but we want 1.3. There is little information about Res 3.0 and im trying to contact you to find out more information. Please tell me anything you can or post it online. Release date, new features, etc... I didn't ever use 'res.create' or any other flags, because i never needed.
Just add group named 't4' in residence configuration and disallow creating.

Create a ticket about that, i did not test it, and on my server i never add anyone ops, because it can allow something that i don't want to add, so just have moderator group :) If it is hard coded that it check for ops ... create ticket (and paste your configuration, maybe not that :)

The permissions don't seem to work properly, unless we're doing something wrong that we cannot see. Everyone seems to have permissions to create residences which we don't want.

I've turned Legacy on and off, both doesn't seem to make a difference. Trying to only allow the group 't4' to be able to create residences, instead everyone can.

Posted Jul 10, 2012I'm owner on my server when I try to use /res set <residence> <flag> <true/false> when I try to use it. It say's I don't have permission to use it. I do have residence.admin and I have rs.admin. But it not working?

Recent changes to bukkit broke our "move" flag and a solution is being looked into, as for fence gates, I already had noticed that and it will be in our next build under both the "use" flag and the newer "door" flag.

but I want report another bug - /set move false = people still can move, just laggy with spam of message. Cant you make it old times ? so it will freeze him totally?

+ can u make flag for people cant use fence gate? because even without perm people still can open it.

Posted Jul 7, 2012I would Like to use residence mod to protect some areas on our world for admins; mob arena, spawn-points, etc. but I cant get the server owned land command to work. I'm "op" but it still doesn't work. I was also wondering how to make the land selection area as big as I want, as only operators should be allowed to create reses. can anyone help?

I believe kingrobichaud is experiencing the same issue I am - PEX groups are not transferring to this mod properly. It will read the group PEX has the user in, and permission nodes are handled properly, but it will not match the PEX user group to a group setup in the residence config file. Tried several different ways to fix this through the config file for residence, with no solution.
Residence 2.6.3, PEX 1.19.2, Bukkit 1.2.5 R.4.0
I've also tried overriding and assigning a specific user to a specific residence group through that section of the config file... did not work.

Both are already supported... Just name the groups in the config the same name as your permissions groups(case sensitive) and they should correspond.

Posted Jul 7, 2012Hey I have a request.. Currently, players can add area to an existing residence without it even touching.. This makes it so players can potentially make a lot more residences than what's limited in the config (example: 5 total residences, 5 areas per residence = 25 different areas). I could make the max east/west and north/south lower (not sure if that includes furthest east part of 1 area to the furthest west part of another), but I would like to give my players the option to purchase a fairly big chunk of land.
Is there any way to force the '/res area add <res> <area>' command to have the selection touching or intersecting the corresponding residence? This will help me lots and hope it's not too difficult..
Thanks again for this great plugin!
EDIT: One bug as well: even with all perms, I cannot destroy/place paintings in another player's res. A little annoying when I'm trying to help my players out! I can destroy all other blocks I've noticed so far, though.
