Regios
Current stable version: v5.9.9 for CB 1.6.2-R0.1
Regios, a fully fledged, extensive and extendible Region mod. Regios allows you to easily create regions with a vast amount of properties such as protection, entry & exit control, password protection, speed and health modifiers and much more! Regios is multi-world compatible and lightweight. More so Regios is open source and has a well documented API which will allow other developers to make add-ons to make Regios even better!
NOTE: Regios v5.0.3 and later now REQUIRES Vault for Economy and/or Permissions support. You can still use Regios without Vault but it will be Op or basic superperms only and without economy support.
Do you use Dynmap? Ever wanted to see your Regios regions on Dynmap? Well now you can! Try the new Dynmap-Regios!
Some of the main features of Regios are:
- Complete Region protection.
- Spout GUI editor!
- Permissions and group modification in real-time, force commands and inventory options.
- Prevent exit or entry with password authentication.
- Transfer structures/regions from server to server with new Blueprint (*.blp) files!
- Backup your Regions and restore them to their former states. (Now includes container contents and sign text!)
- API access.
- Fun features such as health control, pvp settings and speed modifiers.
- Per world configurations.
- Default Region settings.
- Simple flat file storage allows for manual editing if needed.
- Universal Economy/Permission support through Vault
- WorldEdit Support
Current To-Do list (in no particular order or priority):
- Fix Spout GUI
Add non-cuboid regionsCompleted in 5.9.0!- Add self-contained permission system
- Add player variables to commands
Expand Regios APICompleted in 5.9.0!- Better multi-world support
- Add renting
- Add fall damage prevention
- Fix water and lava placement issue when regions are close to each other
- Add more effects for "fun" commands (prevent hunger, regen hunger, cause potion effects, etc.)
- Add some way of visualizing regions in-game.
- Add some form of child regions (mainly to prevent players from creating regions inside of other players regions)
- Add some form of priority system for regions (for when regions overlap)
- Add music looping
- Make tutorial videos!
- Make the commands more flexible (and helpful)
- Add more command aliases (for some of the stranger commands, such as set-creature-spawns)
- Add zombie door break protection
- Improve modification commands
- Add optional auto-update function
- Add world commands
- Add a scheduler for backups

well, i do have 50 other plugins in use and none of them deal with regions.
Also Pistons wont push blocks in a regios region, thats very annoying.
Can you please fix that and make an immediate update? Thats a very bad bug to have.

Ok, we'll look at it. Thanks for the heads up.
@dem0123
What Regios permission nodes have you given your players? Also, did you accidentally swap the protection mode from whitelist to blacklist?
@empathdemon
Not currently, sorry. :/ That is a good idea though, I'll add it to the todo list.
@IdealIdeas
That's still very odd. My testing environment is setup so that i have a region inside a region and one region partly in another and I've yet to run into the issue you are describing. What other plugins do you have?

I could have 1 region overlapping with another and neither will work.
It doesnt appear to matter how much overlaps.
They could be overlapping by 1 block or have 1 smaller region inside a bigger region and still not work correctly.

Posted Jun 12, 2012I think theres a conflict with the TreeAssist plugin. In a protected area, players are able to cut down trees.

Please vote! I personally think it is too much hard work to maintain and very buggy to use. Bear in mind this feature will divert a lot of time from me and johnny to fix which could, in my opinion be better spent. If the majority of you guys want it support then let us know, and if not, let us know too!

Ok great, I'm sure it's good enough ;), there's a help menu in game as well.
I have some ideas which I'm going to be working on for Regios, I'll post them above in a separate list, under the todo list I think it would be productive if we assign jobs to each of us, so we can have a list for you and me which we can manage independently.
Also instead of just publishing a new version every time we fix something we should make updates when we have fixed a significant number of bugs of made a number of changes, I'm sure you already know this but just putting it out there anyway.

I managed to access cached copy. Thank google :D Why the page was deleted I have no clue, I'm going to contact the guy responsible about it.

Although it could maybe do with a rewrite, i'm not sure if it's still up-to date.

@Adamki11s
Why don't you make an organization on Github so that you can both work on Regios easily?

Ok, that's good to know. What I meant was pistons outside of a protected region not being able to disturb the protected region, not that I wanted to stop pistons from working at all. :P
@Snazzie
No, not yet. I started working on adding that a few months ago, but never got it finished. I do intend on getting that finished though.

Posted Jun 9, 2012Blarg - I just remembered my other question.
Is there a way to get odd-shaped regions? Instead of a giant square or rectangle, can we make other shapes, or even go around things at all?
I don't see anything that would allow that just yet, and we've not run into anything major with it. But, I could think of a few scenarios where it might be handy. IDK. :) <3

Posted Jun 9, 2012For what it's worth.....we have a region within a region and everything seems to be ok.
We have SpawnCity - out main city and a very large region. The area is protected against all types, I own it, no monster spawns, yada yada yada.
We then have some residential lots within SpawnCity, that are owned by specific players, or they are still for sale. For the ones that are already owned, the owners have full build rights up until the limits of the plots - even thought it's technically within the main city region which does NOT allow build rights.
I hope that makes sense.
From what I've been reading from other players, they aren't getting overlaps to work, but I am. So - if you need to look at our configs or even come onto the server and see what I'm talking about, just let me know.
As far as the piston issue - I don't really understand. You want to block piston use outside of a region? Why would you want that? I'm sure you have a good reason, I'm just at a loss. :)

I'm sorry, what now? The protections don't work when regions overlap? That's decidedly odd. Is one region totally inside the other or some in and some out?

Posted Jun 9, 2012Overlapping regions make both not work.
Is there anyway you can make it so when there are overlapping regions they both work?
Because I have some regions that where overlapping and they had all the same things set like protection-bb and protection-bp but people where able to mine the blocks from those regions.
I had to go back, remove those 2 regions then mark out areas to place new regions, (As I have some areas on the inside I didnt want to be protected.) which took forever and in the end was something like 12 regions compared to the 2 that was initially there.

Posted Jun 9, 2012Hello!
We just updated this morning, and now our pistons don't work. Once we removed Regios, then our pistons worked again. Is there something that I need to change in the settings or anything?
What's happening is that our piston doors don't open anymore. After gutting the door and experimenting, we've found that the pistons and redstone all work as they should, but no matter what block you stick to the sticky piston, it prevents it from working. The piston literally doesn't move.
If I lay down a piston, put a dirt block behind it, string redstone and a lever to it, then everything works as it should. If I put a dirt block directly against the sticky part of the piston, then nothing happens other than the redstone turns on. If I put a dirt block 1 block away from the sticky part of the piston and flip the switch, then the piston extends and touches the dirt but then it doesn't return when I turn it back off.
Just for kicks, we tested a normal piston. If I put dirt against the piston, it does NOT push the dirt away like it should. So basically, if the piston (either type) needs to interact with the block, it refuses.
The region that our doors are in is owned by me, and have protectall on them, just in case that might have to do with it. I also went outside of the region to the unprotected world. Out there, the pistons work as intended.
Also - I've been meaning to post a request for the /regios info command - is there a way that monster and creature spawns can be added to the list of settings that it broadcasts? :)
Let me know if you need anything further from me. We love this pluggin, so thanks for all your time and work on it! :)
