Hello everybody,
This is Tobias aka Phoenix, the developer of this project. I am sad to inform you that RegionForSale, just like the Bukkit project, is pretty much dead nowadays. I do not like the fact that Minecraft is owned by Microsoft and, even though I respect the company, I cannot see how the spirit of Minecraft fits in there at all. Shame on you for selling, Notch! I do not care about the money involved. But this game, no matter how much profit it generates, belongs into the hands of loving, independent developers (Just like Bukkit – love you guys). My opinion. To be fair: My interest shifted in general as well. So overall, I am not willing to work on this project for free anymore.
Q: What about security updates / bugfixes?
A: I will do my best to still fix those and upload a new version for you. I do not want to let you down.
Q: Will you continue if I donate xx dollar?
A: Probably not. Please try to estimate the time I spend and apply a horrific minimal wage – I am sure you still do not want to pay that. Yes, it’s quite some time.
I still want to thank you very much for the few donations I received up to this point. Developing was fun and I was so very euphoric when I received my first donation. I still remember quite well. Not to forget about the many supportive comments and “thank you”s I received despite the money.
Sincerely,
Phoenix_IV

Updating
RegionForSale provides an automatic update checker to let you get informed as soon as a new version is available. If you do not want to use this feature you can set check_for_updates to false in the general.yml config file.
Todo
- Quick-set options on signs
- Give users, who rented a region, the possibility to buy it (without unrenting + possible rebuilding). The other way round would be retarded - Tell me if you don't think so.
- Auto-updater for minor updates (?)

I didn't get the problem.
@FatThumbs
Sounds like a misconfiguration of WorldGuard. Please create a WorldGuard region but do not connect it to RegionForSale. Then set a region owner and check if the problem same problem occurs.
Also check the WorldGuard region flags. RegionForSale doesn't mess with the region protection at all.

It seems like you haven't looked long enough.
Plugin features, point one:
Configuration manual reference:
http://phoenix-iv.de/projects/regionforsale/help/config.yml.htm#economic-settings.unit-type
So you are able to set absolute prices :)

Phoenix,
From what I understood while looking over the plugin, the prices are mathematically calculated. In essence, we provide the value per block/square and the plugin then calculates a price.
What I was suggesting is that we're able to set our own prices per region. In example, Region1 and Region2 are identical in size, however one costs 1000 and the other 2000. No math, equations or anything else needed.
Without seeing code, I can only make guesses at how you programmed everything, so with the assumption that each region and its settings are built in a constructor, you should only have to add a command that allows the op to change the price variable and another variable that toggles to false the use of your math formula.

I created a plain server using this setup (exception: WG 1.8 (official)) and was able to create the regions '+' and '1+1' and add them as parents without any problems. You might want to try this as well. Maybe its an issue caused by a third party plugin?
@Tetdoss
Yay, thanks :)
Yeah, the guide is missing some improvements, sorry for the trouble :/
@TheMystake
Uhm, did you take a look into the configuration files? A region plugin with fixed prices would be way to limited.
You can change the prices for all regions at once (global config), per world and per region. Also notice that the "unit-type" influences the final region pricing.

Posted Aug 24, 2013I was interested in this plugin, watched the video and everything. Everything looked good until I realized I couldn't choose the rent price of the regions. I have to use the formula that is hardcoded into the program.
If I was able to set my own prices, I would've used this plugin.

Posted Aug 22, 2013Hello :) I'm still using my favourite plugin: yours :P
I have a question, how can we see free regions with regionforsale.locate.free permission?
It is not very clear :/
Thank you again
EDIT: I have found my problem :) I have to use rg find command with regionforsale.find permission. I think you have to add it in your bukkit guide

Why is that a reply to my last message to @niels15?
I cannot reproduce that. I can even add a region only named '+'.

Of course you can :)
To change the prices for all regions open the "config.yml" and take a look at the "economic-settings" section. Notice that the setting "economic-settings.unit-type" also affects the final price of the region.
To change the price for a single region first select it (select command or clicking sign) and then make use of the command
//rg set price < buy | rent | sell | taxes> <amount>. Notice that this setting is also affected by the "unit-type" setting.-

You can change the sign texts and their colors in the language file :)
Adding an extra line with instructions for free regions might be a good idea.
@ehenrickson
The default behavior of WorldGuard is that anyone can open chests if no owner/member is set. Otherwise only owners/members can access the chests. You can change this behavior by making use of the WorldGuard flags.

Posted Aug 12, 2013Question for you or anyone who might know. My problem is when I make a region and i am having everything work but since it is in a worldguard nobody can open any chests and I know i can allow this for them to open in worldguard BUT!!! I don't want just anybody to open it only the owner of that house or members added to the house that was bought or rented.....
So that being said is there a way to make this happen with your/this plugin or how can i make this work...
Thanks for the help

Posted Aug 10, 2013Got some suggestions, as we know the average minecraft players is not to bright could you add so the region could be bought via clicking the sign and a option to be able to use colours on the sign or make it default.
