This plugin is for giving players the option to rent or buy a region. It could be used to let them rent a jail in your Prison server or maybe a shop in the market of the Survival server. The player interacts with signs, making it easy to use. It also has a lot of commands to check the status of all regions, manage the renting and buying of a region and also features for admins. Also the plugin is capable of saving the region and restoring it later, this is very flexible and can be set general and per region, check the config for more information.
All features in a list:
- Rent and sell regions to players + Players can resell their bought regions to other players
- Signs for easy interacting and current status
- Change the language of the plugin or use of of the already provided language files (check here for supported languages, these are already packed with the plugin, just change the language setting in the config).
- Automatically let the plugin restore the region with schematics
- Change which commands players can use with permissions
- Customize the plugin by changing the config
- Automatically place the region name on the sign if it is placed inside a region
- Teleport to rent/buy regions and optionally set the teleport location (teleporting is safe and within the region)
- Adding friends to regions (which also can teleport then)
- Automatic unrent/sell for regions of which the owner is offline for a certain time
- Warning to players when their rent is about to run out (at login and while they are online)
- Group system to set options for a couple of regions instead of all of them.
- All heavy tasks are spread over time (each tick a part is executed until done), so the plugin should not cause any lag.
- Rent/buy limits can be different per permission node (player group), world or group of regions (possible situation: Normal players can buy 1 market region in survival + 1 build region in survival and 2 plots in creative, while VIPs have double limits for all those), check this example.
- Supports name changes because of saving player info by UUID, for more details check the FAQ entry: What happens when a player changes his name?
You need to have WorldEdit, WorldGuard and Vault installed on your server, WorldGuard is used for creating and managing regions, WorldEdit for the saving and restoring the blocks in regions and Vault is used to let players pay for the regions.
Preview
For a preview join 'mc.go-craft.com' and go to the Survival server, the shops around the spawn use AreaShop.

Metrics
This plugin utilizes Hidendra's plugin metrics system, which means that the following information is collected and sent to mcstats.org:
A unique identifier, the server's version of Java, whether the server is in offline or online mode, the plugin's version, the server's version, the OS version/name and architecture, the core count for the CPU, the number of players online, the Metrics version.
This information will give me an indication about how much the plugin is used and encourages me to continue development. Opting out of this service can be done by setting 'sendStats' in the config of this plugin to 'false', if you want to disable Metrics for any plugin go to plugins/Plugin Metrics/config.yml and change 'opt-out' to 'true'. Check graphs of the statistics at this page: mcstats.org/plugin/AreaShop
Do you want to translate AreaShop?
Help translating the plugin into different languages and to keep the translations up to date. Go to this page for more information. Translating goes through the Transifex website and is very easy, sending files back and forth is not needed, you can translate lines online and whenever you want. Every line you translate will be saved, no need to do it all at once (this also allows for easy collaboration).

Posted Apr 24, 2015Is there a way to instead of writing [buy] on the signs to write something else, because it's conflicting with other plugins? Thank you

Not with the currently released version, I however already added a feature to do that. I'm working on moving the plugin to a maven structure, which will enable me to create 1 jar file that supports WorldGuard 5 and 6 again, which I prefer over releasing 2 files all the time.
You can already manually fix it by adding certain commands to the 'eventCommandProfiles' section, but this requires you to make a profile for each different person that you want to give money to.

This is indeed already the case by default as @frizzbee30 already pointed out. Make sure that the AreaShop regions have a higher priority as any other regions on that spot (spawn region for example) because otherwise players will not be able to change blocks in the region.

It's done by region, hence that's a default

You can use the %timeleft% variable instead of the %until% variable to show the time that is left. It will always use just 1 time unit, but will change this depending on the time that is left. If you use it on a sign then the signs will be updated every minute by a scheduled task (time period can be changed in the Limits and Timings section of the config, signs -> delay).

Good that AreaShop at least runs correctly now.
Did you read the info on the Schematics page? If you leftclick a sign of a region, does it indicate that the region will be restored at unrent/sell? If it does not say that then you did not enable it correctly.
If that did not fix it yet then please send me all your config files, creating a ticket for this is probably the best (indicates all info I need).

You have made a couple mistakes in the schematicProfiles section, that probably messed up the YAML format and therefore the flagProfiles is not read correctly by AreaShop. At each end of a profile you have something like this:
The 'default:' part at the end of that line should not be there, check that for each profile.
Also check if your console displays any errors, because it probably has one from AreaShop indicating something about an incorrect YAML file.

That is always good to hear :)
Looks like a good suggestion, I added that to my TODO list. I will also make the command pause the inactive time of players so that the shops also do not unrent because of inactivity (if you have that enabled).

Did you change anything in the config file? The 'flagProfiles' sections defines what regions flags should be set on the WorldGuard regions, by default it should set the greeting and members flags.
How did you check if the region is affected? With '/region info <region>' I guess? With the default configuration it should show that the greeting is set and that the buyer/renter is added as a member. You can also left-click a sign to check if AreaShop has correct data.

Posted Apr 13, 2015im having a little issue with the latest version. i have world guard 6 and when i rent a region it puts all the information on the sign but it seems like the region itself is completely unaffected by anything. not even adding the player to the members for that region...

Thanks :)
I currently have no plans to support MySQL. I don't really see why switching to MySQL would help with your unreliable host problem, in both situations you will need backups, and for both you will need to restore them. Performance wise MySQL would not offer any advantages for AreaShop, it would only make it slower, so that is also not a good reason for me to support MySQL. If you find any performance problems with AreaShop then I will immediately check that and see if I can solve it.
I'm open to suggestions why MySQL support would be better, but I don't see a reason for it currently.
