Player-Owned Houses
Author's Note: Hello mates. I regret to inform those of you who are still interested in this plugin that I will no longer be updating it. The last version on the site (v1.1.1) is the final version as of now. This decision stems from the fact that I have simply not been developing for quite some time, and upon looking back at my code, I realized that I am unfamiliar with its structure and that I do not remember the changes I had intended to make for the next version. I think it has simply been too long for me to continue developing this project, and I do not have the time to rewrite the code from the ground up.
If anyone would like to take it over, feel free to contact me on skype (@Dunsuro) with any questions you may have or to request a copy of the source code.
I am sorry for having to leave you all with what is essentially an unfinished product. - Dunsuro

What is Player-Owned Houses?
The Problem
Minecraft is a game of adventure, mining and fierce battles, but at the end of the day players want to be able to return to their home and rest for the night. This easily becomes a problem on a server that has many players. If each player builds their house, it can easily destroy the landscape or clutter the land with rows upon rows of homes. Often times these homes will obstruct the countryside and ruin the otherwise beautiful world.
The Solution
This idea was a request from Fire_Feather (Original Post) What he came up with was an method of condensing all of these homes in the real world. Where there would normally be a hundred homes, only one is seen. The real homes are in another world.
How?
It's easy! Player-Owned Houses does the work for you. You simply install and build a basic house. You then can define this house by providing a name. After doing that, spawn a deed to the house and sell/give the deed to your players. (Note: Multiple deeds can exist for the same house). When a player uses the deed on the door to the house, he will get a key. If he goes in with his key, it will look like the inside of the house, but really the player has been moved to a whole new world with a copy of the real house. Each new player to do this will get their very own copy. The copies are far away from each-other and can be customized.

Posted Nov 16, 2013Hello! Another request! Could you add a feature so they can't break blocks that come with the house, but they can place/break their own blocks that they have placed down?

That feature is now implemented in the newest version. Bukkit should approve it soon.

Posted Nov 9, 2013Hi, I was wondering if you could add a config option to allow building on the house thing, but not bridges across to other places. Maybe it would be that a certain radius around the house, building is disallowed?

You may want to change the game version in the file you've already uploaded to "officially" show support for 1.6. You can select both 1.5.2 and 1.6.2 as officially supported.

I'm not sure what you mean. Have you looked at The Usage Guide? It's a good place to get some simple tips on how to start off with the plugin.
In any regard, the command to define a home is /poh define <name> . Without the name, it won't work. Hope this helped!

The command is not /poh deed. If you're trying to spawn deeds, /poh spawn [deed] [house] Feel free to check the Command Guide for more info.

Yeah! See, you are in charge of what upgrades there are and when they are sold. For example, you could make two (crafting, chests), and then sell both to the player. The player could put the crafting upgrade in one room and the chests in the other. You do not have to sell both at once, and the player does not have to use both at once.

Quick question regarding this, if a house has several rooms, and for example a player buys update 1 which is crafting, could they also buy update 2 which gives them extra chests and stuff? I want players to be able to choose what they want to put in, when they want in, like Skyrim.

There is not a test server, sorry. Also, as of now, if you enable building in the home world then players will be able to bridge to other homes. You can stop this by disabling building in the home world, or increasing the distance between each home (to make it harder to bridge). This feature is planned for a future version.

Let's see you go make your own home plugin that's exactly like Runescape. News flash, this isn't Runescape.

Posted Jun 12, 2013I know this is a stupid question but I have to ask since it is not mentioned in the about section, if I enable building in the config this plugin will stop players from "bridging" to each others houses right? in other words are they protected?

You are right, my plugin does not generate a separate world for each player. I would advise against this however, as with a large sum of people such a thing will quickly lag the server. I hope you can find a plugin that works better for you.
